It is very sad for people who just walk in and don't ask the question's, how long has this model been out and when will it be replaced..

However if everyone had info on the new one the old ones would just sit and rot.. So someone needs to buy them I just hope they get a Great Deal!!

The way of the world...
I am sorry, I must be different to others but this is not acceptable. It is a matter of ethics and you have to live by your own code of ethics. I don't know how they can cooly look at people in the face (eye). I am in retailing and just cannot do it. It is wrong no matter how you like to twist it. As soon as we know of new stock, or stock that is going to be reduced next week we tell people and allow them to make an informed decision. My wife and I am not that calous that can sell something knowing the next day it will be 30% off. Yeah, sure we lose money. We have known that for nearly 40 years in self employed retailing....but overall we would like to believe that our customers believe in our honesty, openess and ethics which leads to longer term repeat business. All I know is that we have been trading for nearly 40 years and a lot have opened and closed in competition to us over the years.
I must continue repeating....that is why car dealers are at the bottom of the "ethical standards" listings (except Shannon of course).

frad1312. Your comment above is sad. But even when you do ask, the dealer just calmly looks at you, smiles, and then lies, and signs you up to a $70K contract knowing the next model will be on his floor a week later. I am sitting here asking myself, "how do they do it. How do they lie straight in bed".
Sorry guys, I know I can't let go of this subject.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I will add I was upset for the guy and there was allot more talked about then my list of accounts.. I own and run a computer store so our stock changes weekly, we have also been operating for 13 years. Which on the Gold Coast is forever considering the number of shops which have come and gone.

I agree that if I'm given the heads up about a product I always pass the details onto anyone looking for the product as for me word of mouth is worth more then any amount of advertising. In fact all my work comes from word of mouth we haven't done any major advertising for 10 years.

I also have no idea where this guy got his GC and if I found out it was from the dealership I get my cars from I would in fact bring up the point of how wrong it is... I know everyone at my dealership very well and feel that even without the number of box's of beer and wine Ive taken in over the JK's many issues they would look after me.

So I didn't mean to ruffle any past feelings with the story, I have had it hapen to me with a Holden where I purchased the last of a model without checking that the new one was due out before I even needed to change the car over. Its SUCKS!!

Thats why I now do a massive amount of checking before getting any new car!.. Cant trust anyone like I can trust myself!

While I agree with what you are all saying, I also believe in helping those that help themselves.
And if you choose to do no research when you are throwing around $75K, well good for you that it’s not worth 2 minutes of your time to look into it.

I have shared my concerns with quite a few people at Heartland and at Chrysler Jeep - but really it is up to Heartland to ensure that their customers are appropriately looked after. I don't have a huge amount of faith that this will happen though

They move their staff around so much none of them can build up the necessary knowledge base to help a customer with a basic sale. We are at the same point - we want to make a decision before our car arrives as to where we take it in the future for servicing etc.
I ordered an SRT from Castle Hill a few months back and still dont have any word on e number or delivery. Paige has been helpful in responding to my emails and updates but could never provide any insights.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Does it really matter who bought what for what price, whether there is or isn't a new model. personally, i had no idea of the MY14. I looked at the 13, drove the 13, and was prepared to shell out for the 13. as it happened the 13 was no longer available and hence i'm now waiting for the 14. i would have still preferred not to have waited and had a 13, but hey, Anne put her foot down and said i wasn't allowed to. The 13 is /was / still is a great car.
