Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

While I can understand that you may pity the fool that bought the old model, without checking, he was happy with his purchase until he found it was going to be replaced with the next model.

This is the continual cycle of cars and upgrades. There is always going to be a newer model out with better things.

It is NOT up to the dealer to reveal this information unless he is asked directly . Why would he do himself out of a sale for stock he has then and there?
His job is to sell cars, not be a buyers agent and advise the purchaser of the future models. This will just lose an immediate sale and most likely his job.

It is up to the buyer to know more than what a sales person tells them before they part with their money, not to cry foul when they find out later.

The 13 is /was / still is a great car.
Same scenario .. But I researched said my13 jeep to find the my14

It's a dog eat dog world gents, and when your dealing with car salesmen there right up there. When buying a car, new or old, you have to walk in that yard with great suspicion expecting the salesman to pull all tricks out of his hat to make a sale.

Sad it may be, but you just have to play the game and always be a step ahead.

Snuke, a calculated guess. Are you 40'ish or under. My observations of your posts indicate to me that you have a greater skill of computers than most. Then there are the innocent, the naive, the trusting, that think, or would like to believe people are like themselves or would like to be treated the way they would treat people. You have read many posts here where potential buyers have asked direct questions to dealers and given blatant lies in return, and knowingly so. However, the posts we are reading are from jeepgarage savvy followers. These forum junkies return home and post these experiences for all of us to read. I can tell you now the majority have no idea about jeepgarage. There is a member on this forum who has even had private conversations with the writers of "Cars Guide" and even they had no idea about the MY14 believing it was coming sometime later this year. Sorry Snuke, I just can't accept you making excuses for un-ethical practices. There is a reason why car dealers find themselves at the bottom of the ethical standards ratings, and it has nothing to do with the fact that potential customers failed to spend enough hours trawling the net for information on future jeeps. Sorry mate.

The only thing I have up my sleeve is I need to do a logbook for it, so thats 12 weeks I get to bond with my / her JGC... Just when to tell her she has the JK Wrangler for another 12 weeks... May let her have some fun for a month or so first!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well if all goes well I will be driving a MY14 black CRD Overland home in about 4 weeks. Talked to a dealer that has one due in a couple of weeks. So providing the price comes it where he said it would and it is at or under the "bulk buy group" quote I will be good to go. It wasn't my first choice for colour but it has the Vesuvio Indigo interior that we wanted.. beats waiting 3 or 4+ months.
