Use to have a black Statesman.
You used to have a Statesman Auscop? We have a '95 Statesman Caprice. It is what I call the 'Sentimental Car'. It belonged to my husband's father, who passed away last year aged 85 and he doesn't want to sell it because it was special to his Dad.

It has less Km's on it than the Jeep even though it's a '95 model. His Dad always said 'buy top of the range regardless of the brand - spend the money - it's worth it' LOL.

I think he was right.

Great story, I wouldn't want to sell it either. Every now and then I get tempted to buy a 1954 FJ as my Dad drove one in the 54 Redex Trials. At the end of it Holden wanted to put it on display in Adelaide as the best condition Holden to finish, however he had to get back to the Alice for work so he declined.

My Statesman was a 2003 LS8 limited edition.. Wifer made me sell it to buy a 4WD. . Now with the Overland I get my luxury and she gets the 4WD.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Your wife was more sucessful that I was then. I tried (gently) to suggest he sell it, my thinking being that we don't need 3 cars (when the new MY14 arrives) and I want to keep current WK.

No go - wouldn't even hear of it. Offended by the suggestion. Fair enough. It is his Dad's last vehicle and Peter upgraded every few years (until he was in his '70s) Statesman after Statesman after Statesman.

I feel like I'm playing a PS3 game when I drive it. Really weird after the Jeep but there's no doubt about it, you could have a party in the back of it. I think they used to use them as Limo's at some stage (before the stretch ones).

Anyway, off topic (sorry) - still looking forward to taking delivery of the MY14 Overland next week. Husband can have a choice then of driving the Statesman or the current Jeep leaving the MY14 as mine. (Fat chance).

A word of advice - don't make fun of the car, don't tell your husband he should sell it. It was his dads car - that is all you need to know. If he sells it because you want him to, he will always hold it against you even if he says nothing about it to you.

The way it is.

I understand GMWK2. I don't need reminding however - A few feelers put out gave me the answer. The female species is relatively intuitive afterall - funny that.

G'day all, I got my E number today, I should be ecstatic but I've found out that even after ordering in March(22nd I think) I'm not getting my car until the 2nd week of September. It's a Billet CRD Overland, so I hear from webber that Overlands are hard to get, but I would have thought I would take delivery by early August at the latest. Anyone else who ordered early get a huge delay like that? It has only just been built. Cheers.

That sucks big time. If all goes well Then I guess I am very lucky. Ordered today pick it up in about 4weeks, could be possibly earlier but work commitments prevent me going.

Slightly, I wonder if we have the same dealer

I just want to find out if that is the norm.
