Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just had a call from my Sydney dealer, "the MY14 Laredo CRD will not be released until all MY13's have been sold. Expect that to be July".
No info on price or options, pricing will not be available until the model is released.

I believe that that comment is rubbish. What about the dealers who have none left already

Agreed Stuch, but I believe the dealer, she has nothing to gain and a sale to lose by stretching the release date. JEEPaus calls the tune and our complaints are likely to have little effect.

Plus premium paint charges...of course.
Allypally, I did a build on Jeep OZ site for a 2012 JGC and worked out that the extra from "Standard" paint to "Premium" paint is an EXTRA A$462 for a Laredo.

Then for an Overland and Limited the EXTRA for the "Premium" paint increases to A$673!!

Now do a build on the JEEP USA site for a 2014 and NO, yes NO extra is paid for the "Premium" Paint there.

As well, the Dealer Delivery Charge in OZ (For my JGC MY14) is A$1813 BUT Delivery (Destination) Charge in the USA is only US$995, half of what we pay here.

The transport costs are built into the basic
initial unit costs, so why are the Dealer Delivery Charges DOUBLE the Americans.???????????

I might have a word with our Consumer Affairs people on this one.

AND NAIRACRUISIN, what aload of crap that one is!! Re with holding your purchase until the MY13 are sold out!!! I reckon thats worth a legal challenge too.

Thats with holding of paid for goods.

What is JEEP OZ up to??

Are they run by a bunch of monkeys??

Hang on, you can train monkeys!! I forgot.

I believe the MY14 "Laredo CRD" is on delayed build anyway, think this was mentioned in the main 2014.. thread.

from car sales current "advertised" stock.. so real numbers would be more, assume double.
JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE
BadgeJET(1)
LAREDO(242)
LIMITED(255)
OVERLAND(88)
SRT-8(17)
SeriesWK MY2012(204)
WK MY2013(399)
New & Used JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE for sale - carsales.com.au

603 new advertised - assume say double that 1200, with the last of the '13s on the boat maybe 1500 total units in the market. They are selling around 900 per month so this stock is going to dry up pretty quickly.
Makes no sense to block the release of e.g. MY14 Overland Diesels when there is hardly any left to buy already . ( 8 advertised)

Chrysler Australia Sets New Sales Record in February

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jeep CompassStrong February figures have ensured Chrysler Australia’s sales success continues undiminished with ongoing growth and profitability.

Chrysler Australia Group continues to set sales records, with dynamic new product, sharp pricing and added customer value paying dividends across the board.

With a solid 1,589 sales in February, Chrysler Australia Group is celebrating its best month on record which has seen sales skyrocket to an extraordinary 91.4 percent improvement on last year.

With both January and February performing so well with unprecedented success, Chrysler Australia is already celebrating the company’s best quarter ever, ahead of the beginning of March.

Outstanding performers for the month of February were the recently launched Jeep Compass and also the Jeep Patriot. Both of these models achieved their best ever sales result.

Launched in January this year, the new Jeep Compass developed an exceptionally strong return with 348 units delivered to customers in its first full sales month.

The Jeep Patriot, which has recently become available in a front-wheel-drive, increased its sales performance up 161 percent on February 2011.

These sales success stories see Chrysler Group continuing to hit targets with fantastic product and an expanding dealer network.

“This maintenance of sales strength is a reflection of the commitments and dedication of the entire Chrysler Australia Group network”, said Chrysler Australia General Manager of Sales, Veronica Johns.

“We are absolutely thrilled with our bolstered sales performance this year – including achieving our best quarter ever before March began,” said Ms Johns.

Can you think how great the sales figures would be if they actually gave a dam and understood what customer service is

One can only dream

Chrysler Australia should be congratulated. They actually have produced cars that everyone now wants despite appalling customer service. Yes, throw in good customer service and the results could become mind boggling. An opportunity they should not overlook. Chrysler Australia is in the unique position to really make inroads into other car companies before their competitors react and refine their own product. These competitors shall surely react because this time Chrysler you have a livery of real winners. Congratulations again.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I agree. It is a little like the Australian company was overwhelmed with it's success, and cannot implement the support model required.
I am worried that too much capital has been poured into advertising, and not enough into infrastructure.
Maybe they think that fines applied for non support will be less than the setting up of the infrastructure?
