Dont think you will be getting out of the LCT that easily. The dealer has an obligation to advise the ATO on all accessories fitted to your vehicle in the first 12 mths and they are subject to LCT.

If this was random forum full of people trolling each other every day rather than trying to help each other, I would understand your comment.
However JG is far from that so your inference that we are lying is not appreciated.

And I would call you an idiot for doing that.

You do not need some one else's quote to achieve the same price, this is not price matching a TV at Harvey Norman. You just need to know that it is entirely feasible. Go in with the confidence that a price can be achieved and be prepared to walk out the door if they don't accept it.

Thanks
Yes that is a good price for a MY14 Ltd CRD.
Considering that a good deal today on a MY13 Ltd CRD drive away is $59Kish.
Add the hitch receiver and a slight increase for MY14, you're on track.

Does anyone here know or ever heard of ABN holders being exempt of LCT? Found this on the ATO website....

http://www.ato.gov.au/businesses/con....htm&page=2&H2

" You need to pay LCT at the time you sell a luxury*car unless the purchaser quotes their*ABN in an approved format. If you import*a*luxury car, you need to pay the LCT to Customs at the same time you pay the customs duty, unless you quote your ABN."

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have paid it on the last 4 cars and I am married to a CPA who finds all the possible ways out of paying tax. You are also correct about the LCT on accessories. What the dealer is doing is both unethical and illegal as they are facilitating tax evasion.

Yeah, my wifes a CPA also, just asked her and she said she's pretty sure its for holding stock, etc. Got me all excited for a minute.

My wife also tells me that the LCT on accessories is paid on the RRP of them, not any discounted price you can negotiate.

So that's where the plate went. I went to order the same 2 months ago so settled for 14JGC black background red print should look good on my black Overland. By the way I checked out a silver Overland at a dealership it did not have recovery hooks and the wood accent in dash was smooth shiny not open wood grain is this correct

The petrol models will be easier going as they are and have always been crap cars so will be more available .
Yes I know an srt is petrol though ltd numbers and specialist car .
If you want a good jeep experience and pricing try Shervin at private fleet . He knows his stuff and really try's to help .
Or a novated lease company like Fleet partners / fincar/ orix
If you can get into the fleet departments you can save some dollars
Also whoever is setting up a bulk deal had better have members deposits first otherwise half of the people pull out ......
Good luck everyone
Why do you think petrol JGC are crap cars?

I am a tax agent and I believe this is for limited circumstances ( stock holding etc ). I will make enquiries with the ato on Tuesday. I will feel silly if this is or react as I have paid it in the past too.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi all, had a call from my dealer this morning. Jeep AUS allocated them my MY14 Overland CRD yesterday.

Due into Penrith next week, ready for delivery the following week. I ordered in December 2012.

This is about the same price as the now discounted Limited 2013's. Originally the retail price for a Limited diesel 2013 was approx. $67K. Is this definitely a diesel?
