Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

You know what I would like to see. I would like to see absolutely everyone who goes into a
Chrysler Jeep dealership, even in Perth or Cairns to say. "I am going to at least ring Shannon Bell of Werribee Jeep and ask him for a price because that's the dealership I should be dealing with but they are a long way away so I am hoping you can do a deal for me". Or something to that effect. What Createit above has posted is excellent. He drove past 3 dealerships to buy off Werribee. Would it not be great if dealerships all around Australia started ringing Chrysler HQ in Melbourne whinging and complaining, "who the hell is this Shannon Bell guy at Werribee Jeep - it's just NOT fair" and "what's going on with the Werribbee Jeep dealership...can you look into it for us because everyone wants to deal with some guy called Shannon Bell" Why am I posting these comments, because just maybe, when the complaints, feed back etc, start bouncing back through the dealerships just maybe, Chrysler Australia will start to believe in the power of social media, but particuarly JEEPGARAGE.

Hi All

Further to my visit to Werribee Jeep on Saturday, I noticed that all models now have colour coded exterior mirrors. The pics / videos from US show chrome mirrors for Limited and Overland as are the 2013 models over here.
I prefer body coloured mirrors but was expecting chrome - I wonder why the change for AUS market.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

what I am annoyed about is the fact that the current model does not come with mudflaps on the Overland. Shannon does not know why and is waiting for the spec sheets. They may now have to be fitted as "after market" which is just another inconvenience and cost. Lets see how that develops. Chrysler Aus may fit them aftermarket for no cost yet.

I'm curios to know how they are going around the embargo. Is there going to be backlash for the couple of said dealers displaying, advertising and discussing facts and figures?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Apparently getting your hands on a Jeep in Australia has been a bit of a problem for a long time. My father was stationed in Australia for three years during WWII. He was befriended by a couple whose son was off somewhere doing his part.

He said the Jones's often invited him for dinner. In his free time he would try to help them where he could. The problem was there was not always a Jeep available to get him into town. Not one to give up a good meal ... He bought a horse. It didn't have gps, or a stereo for that matter, but it did have 4 hoof drive.

Hadn't noticed the absence of mudflaps - I believe they are on the 2013 Limited also. Please keep us posted with any detail from Shannon.

I guess I was sucked in by the overall impression of the car, didn't have my list of details, and didn't pay attention.

Could anyone who has seen a Larado please confirm if it does or does not have the reversing camera? Thanks

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I must say I took for granted that it had the reverse camera as per all the last Laredo wk2's. I will be speaking with werribee jeep tomorrow and let you know what I find out as it is a must on this type of vehicle.

Just hope with all this talk that we don't get Shannon in trouble and cause a problem with our cars coming in. Maybe we all need to keep quiet till we get handover of our jeeps. A Melbourne catch up will be in order I think when they have all been delivered.

Mentone Jeep had a Laredo on the floor. He advises me that the reversing camera is fitted here at the Aust dealers. Same with the leather seats too.

It seems that the CD player is not standard by all accounts on the Laredo only optional. Wish Jeep Aust had advised us so before placing the order on our behalf.

Anyway, will have to convert to USB's and SD cards instead.

That spot where to CD player is may be a good one for the CB/UHF anyway.
