Some customers are always going to be more effort than they are worth.
So you think someone is gets poor service should just keep quiet and hope the world will magically get better? That the US company should not be told about a customers experience in Australia and why that experience is hurting their brand??
I think Alan has been vocal but always allowed JeepAU and the dealer a chance to fix things. They choose not to prove their claims that the customer is number one. Obviously that is not the case and said customer is now lost to them.
Alan wont be the only one who cancels / does not buy because they cant get service or are not able to trust that they will be cared for if things go wrong. Have a read of the threads about electrical gremlins and consider if you would like to have a car misbehaving and have to rely on a dealer hundreds of miles away who has demonstrated a poor attitude to customers. Then tell me if you think a Jeep is best for you.

.
Mate, I've only ever heard one side of the story, I never take it as read that I have a fair and reasonable view of the situation until I've heard both sides at the very least.

Publishing third party emails, making various disparaging and likely defamatory remarks about a real person, let alone the business, both the local one and the national one????? And you guys all approve of that?

Perhaps put yourself in a certain jeep Australia's employees shoes, how would you feel reading all this personal insult, not only on a public forum, but one likely to be read by colleagues?

News on the Rear Camera for the Laredo from Werribee Jeep is that they will fit this on arrival at the dealership and it is standard on the Australian Vehicles.

If I were a certain Jeep Australia employee I would NEVER make insulting remarks about my customers. And I certainly wouldn't put it in an email. EMAIL 101: rule 1 NEVER put something in an email and send to a distro list that you don't want made public..

If I were that employee and I realised that the words I had written had not been wheat I had intended to say then I would write to the persons involved ( and possibly this forum ) , apologise for the unintended words and clarify my stance. But I dont think the email was taken out of context and the writer meant exactly what they wrote. IF they did not why have they not clarified ?

And the behaviour by the company that is the root cause of the problem has not changed. The company involved has not made any effort to address legitimate concerns by people waiting months for an expensive car with no feedback. They continue to cling to this idea that a forum that provides buyers with external information must be bad.

So when you receive poor service before the sale, is it not reasonable to expect poor service after the money has been handed over? And given that expectation, choose to walk away ?

Too bloody right it is! Stop whinging and get rolling. Beyond me, but if I thought jeep had no idea, that the dealers disliked customers , and had no service , I sure wouldn't be buying one. The inference that you do feel this and still want to buy from them, is , well - surprising at the least.

Aus cop, 2 wrongs don't make a right.

I've bought maybe 20 odd brand new cars I think, mostly without having to deal on price, I don't think I've ever had any dramas , no big stuff ups (worst was a wrong interior colour - I lived with it), quite a few warranty claims, mostly I know more about their product than the salesperson does, definitely that's not a problem, had to choose from colours that are available rather than from the entire list of possibles. But cars get delivered, I drive em into the ground, then get another.

The more fussy and particular you are, the less likely you are to be happy with any purchase, and the less demanding you are towards the salesperson, and the nicer you are to them, the better the service you get I think.

Will be heading into some dealers tomorrow by the look of all the good news here, might even make the short trip to Sydney, talk to some excited salespeople , and check out some cars in the colours that I like. He'll maybe even wait till Friday, when they will be even more excited and more flush with official information they can hang their hat on.

Happydayz.

Well Pharm, if you go into dealers tomorrow, you will see how they suffer from NFI when it comes to the '14 model. Most have not got the cars yet, as they do not officially exist on this planet until Friday. I just hope you receive some of the Jeep legendary service, so you can see what other have been talking about.

I don't think Pharmaboy works for Jeep or is a troll as he has his name on the bulk buy. Living in Sydney he certainly has not experienced living remotely. Because of this remoteness I will more than likely be flying to SidsDunnie to buy are car in the near future. Just not wiling to pay the $81K for an Overland which was my quote here. Claimed it cost them about $5K to ship to Alice...

Pharmaboy, I am curious though. You have had 20 odd brand new cars and "driven them all in to the ground" Mate you must be pretty rough on your cars or almost hitting 200 yrs old. Sorry had to stir on that one...
