GMWK2. Love your car. It would not be practical to upgrade at this point in time. Now that Chrysler, fiat, jeep dodge, etc, etc. has a taste of success they are not going to let this go. They are about to experience what it is like to knock of BMWX5'S, ML350's, Porche Cayennes, LandCruisers, Land Rovers and Touregs. One can only begin to imagine what they are going to come up with when the next major body shape occurs. They will be desperate to maintain their soon to be found No.1 ranking and I am going to be on this site reading how you and Robo_70 are behind the wheel of one.

This isn't fair having to wait another 3 to 4 weeks for the car to get to the other side of the country. I should have bought it in Sydney and just drove it west it would have been quicker.

I'm a new member here and have a dumb question. If I order a jeep grand cherokee overland 2014 will I get an overland? The reason I ask is that I visited a Melbourne jeep dealer this week and was shown a brand spanking new 2014 with overland badges on it. But when I looked at the front of the vehicle there wasn't the double tow points I've seen on US Overland 2014??

I might even drive out there again on Saturday for another look and to see if any others have come in.
Don't know but will ask tomorrow (Friday). You may well have an answer before me. They would be very handy, and a bit more chrome for me.
Realistically though I won't be going to far off road to need them. My plan is to cherish this car and when it ages a bit and the love affair dimmers then take it off road as I join the grey nomads. My plan is to retire this girl to the Bungle Bungles, north of Broome and other places and use a new SUMMIT in a few years time as my highway car with GMWK2 and Robo_70. Care to join me Captain? (or alpal?)

As I have said, they can sell from tomorrow as the the will have model code release so formal release does not matter. You can get your car after tomorrow .

Sure thing Davidpriddy - it will be an Overland. As regards the front tow hooks, I believe, from a previous post, that there may have been a safety concern with the front tow hooks. But I do believe that we'll all know very soon once we have all picked up our MY14s. Stay tuned Davidpriddy, there are some very resourceful guys on this forum that will find a solution.

I think complaining means that we're alive and that we know what we want and expect. I haven't read anyone being derogatory or defamatory (other than to Anne Tanner.. but that's another story).

Actually we've been on a journey together and we're finally started to see dry land on the horizon. I only regret that, inevitably once we get our MY14 JGC in the near future, that we'll stop this thread and probably never hear from each other again.

Personally I've enjoyed the banter, the rage as well as the constructive criticism. This is my first brand new car I've ever bought may be my last one. I've enjoyed the ride thus far and hope to hear from you all again.
Like Webber's reply, I couldn't agree more. This forum has been a source of so much useful information and a very entertaining way to while away the months and weeks before we're all (maybe almost all of us) picking up our shiny new cars. I will certainly miss the regular updates and posts from hive of activity that this place has recently become. No doubt it will be quieter, but I hope there will still be the odd post here and there of new features found or stories or photos depicting some of the great times ahead enjoying our cars. My SRT won't see any significant off road use, but I'd happily ride shotgun in one of the more competent off-roaders if a bunch of guys around Sydney want to meet up.

Cheers!

GB

Mate don't hold your breath. Have posted twice here (note you have 7) but have been overwhelmed with the regulars to be even noticed that we exist.

Have a search back through this and other threads. There has been much discussion about whether the AU spec cars will get or can be fitted with front tow hooks. So far, no solid answer.

We can definitely get an Overland model. Detailed specs at the first post of this thread.

Overseas cars differ from US cars in a number of areas. If you saw an Overland in the metal then that's what you can get. Just wish I could see a SRT in the flesh!

Is the that we are now close to getting some cars making a few people nervous or do we have a troll or two lurking?. Such a childish comment And I note the question posted was answered within an hour

Got my E number, thanks Paige. Two month wait though for my SRT. Over half way at least.
