But when I looked at the front of the vehicle there wasn't the double tow points I've seen on US Overland 2014??
G'day David,

The MY'14's come with tow brackets, my understanding is that in the past the export GC's were modified to conform with pedestrian rules in Europe and the result was we got lumped in because we are export. The tow brackets were added this year which Milous believes will give us the opportunity to fit tow hooks.

I'm heading to have a look at the dealer today to see if I can see the brackets and the removable panels on the lower fascia. I'll report back, but disclaimer, I'm no expert. Having said that I'm confident that we will be able to fit the tow hooks.

As a side note, I picked up some chrome tow hooks when I visited the USA earlier in the week, I have found out the hard way that you also need to buy the black tow hooks to get the brackets that fit to the tow brackets on the GC. I couldn't get hold of them before I left Hopefully I will be able to get back there and pick them up in early August. My GC is due mid July.

Cheers

Don't feel to left out adriwood, it's a forum, so first rule of forum club, is don't talk about forum club.

You may notice if someone is challenged on complaining, it's all guns blazing, or if you disagree with someone, they must be a troll, or a Stooge for jeep Australia LOL. Now the cars are here, it will all balance up, and like most online forums, you read, either take it in, or ignore it. Lack of replies just means you aren't shaking someone's tree! . (That's probably a good thing)

Front hooks, There is a panel on both sides low down that's removable - I thought it was a requirement in aus for cars to have tow points front and rear, and getting down I couldn't see one under the car, which makes me think those panels must have tow points, which I am sure is where recovery points could be added. Looks like a dealer fitted job though, which may or may not be included in the overland

Realistically though I won't be going to far off road to need them. My plan is to cherish this car and when it ages a bit and the love affair dimmers then take it off road as I join the grey nomads. My plan is to retire this girl to the Bungle Bungles, north of Broome and other places and use a new SUMMIT in a few years time as my highway car with GMWK2 and Robo_70. Care to join me Captain? (or alpal?)

Have you seen that "track" into the Bungle Bungle? You may need a Rubicon for that one.
I should be there anyway,.

Love to join you you and the crew - but was it in going to the Bungle Bungles or buying a Summit? Hmmm. Do they have a flushing toilet at the Bungle Bungles??

Adriwood,
You are correct. Your initial post was most probably overlooked by those posting at the time. In looking back, there was a little hype going on then. Welcome.
I think if you had asked a question, you would have received a response. However, you posted comments, which did not require a answer.
Please feel welcome.

Saw the new 2014 JGC limited on the show room floor yesterday
Not sure about the front recovery hooks
Could not see any fitted but also not sure if they can be fitted or are an additional high cost assessory.
Its a bloody 4x4for gods sake

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Have not even got close to the North West but that's one of the projects planned for this baby. Maybe she will remain in town and I take a paid professional tourist trip in.
Robo_70 was up early and into Cars Guide this morning. Notice only Werribee Jeep advertising the MY14 and it was that Granite Crystal we posted here a week ago with help from Hymer. I expected all dealers would be keen to get this car into the market place but surprised all the other Jeep dealers are still advertising the MY13 and some of these advertisers do in fact have the MY14 on the floor?
