Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

The issues of Front Recovery hooks has been discussed in it's own thread, so while awaiting the release of your new Jeep, you could spend the time trolling through the many posts on the subject.
The hooks can be retrofitted, so now it's not a huge drama.
However, the change from the USA spec cars does make it difficult to fit bull bars and winches. It's not a showstopper, just makes it more difficult... and naturally, more expensive. A couple of members have fabricated their own brackets for Hooks, and I think they sourced the Hooks that they used from local 4wd shops.

Okay ... While reviewing YouTube videos last night on the Overland 2014 I saw a video where they say there are 5 different levels of 'extras' on the Overland. I also noticed on the overland I saw here in Melbourne at the dealer that there was a CD player in the arm rest centre console. The YouTube video of the US Overland didn't have this CD player. Because we are "down under" I assume we will only be made available one level of 'extras'. But every time I assume, I make an ass out of my self??

I suppose Davidpriddy, we'll soon be able to definitely answer your query. If there's a bracket ready just to bolt on front hooks then- Yi-ha! But if it doesn't, then stay tuned and someone here will find a solution. As mentioned before, we have some very resourceful folks on this forum and they'll find a cost effective solution.

Stay tuned.

Its a shame. The remote window control only works for Australian models - not US.

Perhaps you should use the remote that is permanently fixed on your arm rest to "roll down the window".

Hahaha very funny, just wondering if I could do it like the remote start feature.

Robo_70, how much money have you in your bank accounts 'cause SJandL just may come a calling. That was a risk putting your money on it. My car is just 3Km from Werribee Jeep in prelease but they may not be able to get it out today. If they do get it today it may not be in time for "pre-delivery work" and rego which means a Monday collection. That also means 3 more nights of camping out and I just might have to read all that boasting from SJandL about being the first to drive.

The CD player is an option in USA but is standard in the Overland in Aus. I think it is a pity that we get it without a choice.

I might indeed come a calling.

I'm waiting with baited breath by the phone, trying to keep myself busy.
