webber, personally speaking ? no I dont really rate the Toureg, the reviews I have seen are not all that great. The top end model maybe ( 4XMotion not 4-Motion) but new its $100K on the road and simply not worth that kind of money. They do look nicely finished however.
I have not driven one but did own a MY10 Audi Q7 with 8 speed auto and the same 3.0 TDI but the turbo lag was horrendous.

Those are intersting stats Milous. They are US stats so probably cannot use them to argue my point but will have a go anyway.
It is interesting that Summit expects 11 % against only 2% for SRT.
Now if our SRT stats were similar in OZ one wonders why we import the SRT with such a low percentage but won't import a SUMMIT which we could presume could well be 5 times the sales figures than that of the SRT?. It's got me beat.

I wish I could... the jury is still out. Just confirmed that an AU spec Summit model is now enroute to Australia (Melbourne)... ETA is 2nd week of April.

First batches of 2014 AU builds will start shipping from the U.S. this month...

I will have more information on the AU Overland in a couple days .
Two days? If those Overlands come down the line with a lot of Summit specs attached I guess the game is up?

I think if us blokes did not have to "please" our Finance Directors (wife) and their sense of "style", it would open up far more vehicular options ;0

Yes, diesel - our current model can only be described as a fish but that's ok - we knew that when we bought it but we live semi-rurally and work from home so don't do the Km's that one would normally do going to work day to day.

You're right though, we should get in there and order it. Husband suggested it last week actually. Shall do so this week and report back.

Interestingly though, within this thread I have read from various posters about dealerships wanting to move the 2012/13 stock and I have to say that just within my small area - semi-rural south of Sydney, over the last 3 months there has been an explosion of Jeeps in the school car park. Well not so much an explosion but you get the idea.

Where as I used to be the only GC in the park, now I'm seeing at least a dozen shiney new blingy ones that park next to me. (I'm jealous but I will hold out)

I know, it's a girl thing but the point is, the 2012/13 stock is still moving... This is a good thing I think.

Just mentioned this thread to husband and he said tomorrow we will go and order.

AU production is now getting underway. Don't know yet how long they will stay in QC.

Perhaps for now. But, if so, one cannot rule out the possibility of a later-in-model year release of the Summit.

SJandL --Most folk still don't know about the 14 and the dealers are pushing hard to clear the decks of old stock. They did 970 units in Feb so I expect they will all be gone in another 2 months.. I would not buy a 12/13 unless they gave me a huge discount, but they don't need to as they are selling well... Then the 14s will land and the dealers can just keep getting their full RRP ( for the CRD at least)

Yes, U.S. current/upcoming projected/anticipated production mixes. I don't have AU mix percentages, but I would guess they would be quite different. Here, the SRT has always been a couple/few % points of production.

I read an article jeep Au have tried to secure 25% of the 2014 SRT production, which is a lot given population

Webber if we get our E numbers you might want to sign up for level 3/4 so you can track it and keep your sprits up through the process
