Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well saw the MY14 Overland, Limited and Laredo today.

I am getting the Overland, so here is my Overland review (no surprises thanks to Jeep garage).

Like: perforated seats (very soft), leather dash (with white stiching), pano roof, steering wheel (special), rear recovery hook, grill.

Didn't like: small boot (not sure the golf clubs would fit sideways), small rear seats (good for children but a bit cosy for me), no front recovery hook, CD player (really does make centre console useless, you will be able to fit a pair of sunglasses), some of the plastic internal panels didn't seem to interlock particularly well.

Of coarse the real reason to buy this car is the 4x4 capability... I will leave that to others.

If I wanted a bigger 4x4 I guess they are out there? As this will also be an everyday car I am happy it is a manageable size.

Best wishes.

Well that the original post came from Canada the 2nd answer may be in some ways more fitting. However the answer was geographically incorrect. I was just trying to be a "little" nicer to a person that posed a question that seemed to be about as as old as Webber's new baby.

Hop she goes as well as she looks Webber. I missed catching the bouquet at the wedding so now have a month to wait for mine to turn up

Just got back to the reception house (my place of work). No time to read past posts. Best ride I have had. Will post pics and a review as soon as I can. Guys, if you haven,t bought one of these then do so. Flat out as we work 7 days.

Just to add my 2 cents worth, I carry 3 full size cart bags every Saturday without dropping the rear seats, and no need to take out the driver or any other woodds and I get great comments regarding the legroom and reclining heated rear seats from the 6ft adults I get to ferry around. Even with a tall person in the front, the legroom is remarkable. My last cars were Pajero's that didn't come close the the all round comfort of the JGC.

Good to hear. Faced with the reality of seeing the car in the flesh I am just second guessing myself. My kids are 7 and 8 so I don't think I'll have any problems . I imagine that there are bigger 4x4 out there, however, I haven't looked due to the jeeps offroad reputation

My 15 yr old son is over 6" tall with size 14 feet - no complaints about the space in the back and the kids love the reclining seats. You are right about the boot size - it is a little small. I replaced a 2002 challenger and we could fit all our camp gear for the four of us for a weekend away in its boot, no way we can do that with the jeep. So we take a trailer now. But for the majority of the time the jeep is fine - you are right, there are bigger 4x4 around, but who'd want to drive one of those tanks around day in day out.

I have noticed the MY14 has black headliner as standard.

Can't wait to see pics Webber. Congrats

Meanwhile the child thought he would deal to our old JGC before the new one arrives. He enlisted a couple of his Star Wars mates to help him.

(Excuse the construction zone around the house at the moment).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Webber, you are most likely the first owner of a '14 in Oz, well done.
At least there is hope for everyone else waiting.
