Webber, totally agree on your comments regarding Shannon and David.
I spoke with Shannon and David late last week as I am keen to get behind the wheel of a Cherry red SRT.
Every other dealer I spoke to prior (and it was a few) gave me a November delivery.
Thanks to Shannon, and his commitment to customer satisfaction, I will driving my new Jeep early September

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Congrats Webber on the new arrival. She definitely looks the goods and worthy of being on display. I have grown up in a family run business and have moved on to run my own business for the last 10 years and it is from this experience that I definitely also respect good service when I see it. You can attribute 1 sale to your act of good will as I had been disappointed to the fact that a dealer our family has bought 4 jeeps from had let me down and I wouldn't have a jeep before Christmas and maybe I would have to settle for a prado. Your listing of Shannon's number put me in touch with a sales person that actually listened to the fact I had tried hard to put an order in to no avail even just 24hrs earlier. 2 days later the exact car that I had planned on had become a reality and it arrives in August.

Enjoy the comfort of riding in your new prized possession and thanks for putting me in touch with Shannon.

How many MY14's has Shannon now sold. We might need to keep a tally. Evidence to other dealers that good service and knowledge of the car you are selling can go a long way.

I am in the same boat, wondering if the $10K difference is truly worth it or just get Leather Seats on the Laredo.
Big plus for the Laredo (apart from not spending another $10K, is no bloody CD player)
If we go the Ltd, I will also get Luxury Group II, as the ventilated seats will be awesome.

Taking it from the top of the Spec Guide:

— Leather-trimmed seats
— Dual rear exhaust with bright tips
— Power Liftgate
— Mirrors - memory, auto-dimming for driver and passenger
— Tyres 265/50R20 Kumho all-season (instead of 65/60R18 Michelin all-season)
— Wheels 20-inch polished wheels with Mineral Gray pockets (instead of 18")
— Memory System — Radio station presets, last station settings, driver’s seat position, exterior mirrors, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel settings for two drivers, actuated from driver’s door panel or each unique key fob.
— Heated second-row seats
— Heated steering wheel
— Power tilt/telescoping steering column
— ParkSense Front and Rear Park Assist System(2) — Sensors in front and rear bumper detect obstacles; includes shut-off switch
— Navigation with 3D mapping
— 9 premium Alpine® speakers including subwoofer

— Rear seats USB ports & Air Con controls
— Lighter timber trim on dash

— Tinted glass (Suspect Laredo has this too)
— Deep tint glass on rear windows (Suspect Laredo has this too)
— Interior front footwell and centre console bin lighting (Suspect Laredo has this too)

— STUPID CD PLAYER

And the option for
Luxury Group II
Includes ventilated seats and axis perforated Nappa leather trim

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Webber,
I have stayed rather quiet today, and watched with much interest your early awakening, trip to the dealership, the long handover ceremony, the getting to know you induction, as well as the evening drive.
To say I was somewhat jealous, would be an understatement. However, I did poke my head into my own garage, and had a short reminiscent with my own GC. That got me over the hump, and to a stage where I can truly say congratulations.
Now. It is time for you to lock the car, and have a quiet drink before being tucked off into bed. I really do not think it would be appropriate for you to sleep with Patience on the first night. Get to know more of each other, and at least check out the under chassis before tampering with the heated seats.
From tomorrow, a different regime will take over your daylight hours. Tasks such as reading the owners manual, washing, thinking of paint protection, boot liners, scuff plates and possibly a towbar are your future.
Once again, Congratulations. Couldn't have happened to a nicer gent.
What's it like to have the oldest MY14 in Australia?

You're forgetting the two elusive Summits that got shipped here first.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I am trying to go quiet for a little while (24 minutes, no sorry 24 hours) but I should not do so before acknowledge your support. Thankyou to Blakey, Createit, Iboughtajeep, allypally, Bretto, The Captain and lots of others who I have not listed here.
I am not sure about that twist of having the oldest MY14 but well aware the affair is just beginning. I know members have posted negative comments about protecting these ladies and may well be correct but this curvacious girl is booked in Monday/Tuesday for 3M film and nano protection internally/externally. She has a very voluptuous breast so I may consider the car bra to protect such a vulnerable area in the near future. The cash outlay did not stop with the initial purchase and yes allypally, the reading just begins.

Perhaps put yourself in a certain jeep Australia's employees shoes, how would you feel reading all this personal insult, not only on a public forum, but one likely to be read by colleagues?
I'm glad others see this too. Good to see the conscience still exists. Well said Pharmaboy.

They seemed really helpful and pretty much as described by others on this site.
Not wanting to sound hen pecked, but this is only half my issue. My wife's profession is International Marketing and Management, Sales and Customers Service. She expects to get as good as she gives. One dealer and maker has met her expectations, the other has not and she pays for half the car. Her motto is "People will buy from those they like and trust, then justify the economics later".

My wifes biggest issue was that when I wrote to jeep, they did not reply at all but rather chose to call the dealer and want the salesman who gave me the email sacked. That was BEFORE that email was published on this forum. That and her dissatisfaction with the service she received when she tried to resolve the issue last week.

I realise that the service guys and the sales guys are two different areas but in the end we were dealing with the GM of the dealership, and he was not willing to work with us further. His choice, he is free to deal with whomever he wishes. As for it being right or wrong to publish our experience here? Why is it wrong? Sharing of factual information is the best way for customers to make informed decisions. If you are happy with your dealer, buy a Jeep. I notice some time back lots of people had unkind things to say about Castle Hill, and some other dealers. I suggest if they want to avoid this sort of bad press, they lift their game.

Fair comment Alan. We all see that you have had a crappy time and some feel your frustration more than others. Personal attacks though, even if you are only venting won't ever lead to something productive. Be the bigger bloke mate. Hope the Nissan nails those roads up there.

I am interested in the cost of the 3M external film and your thoughts on the installer and results. Please give some feedback when you pickup the car on Tuesday. Do they need it overnight?.
