Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I am lifting my self imposed embargo to post some info.
SNUKE...I tried to use that link for your pics to take the pressure off Hymer but it did not work.
HYMER....Have sent you some more pics for the site.
Guys, 1st pic about the fuel area. No opening for that urea stuff.
Next lot of pics is about the 3M film. Will explain further soon if the pics get up.
I have been invited to offer support by keeping "patience" company when the operation commences. Hope to post a pic or two.
She first goes through full prep. I was surprised how Shane of RaceWrap so quickly pointed out scuff marks from "pre-delivery" and pieces of pre-delivery material still on the car. Scuffs and pre-delivery protection (remnants) now being removed, Shower and Shampoo and full blow and dry before work commences this afternoon.

My car had no flaps. Shannon is fitting free for me. Does not know himself yet if they are stock standard to be retro-fitted in Aust.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Have sent Hymer a pic of my fuel area. Diesel only.
Shannon said that is why they are sceptical of "build sheets" through Jeepgarage.
He is checking with HQ about Ambient Lighting and mudflaps.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Neanderthal Webber just has to learn how to post pics. Have sent some to Hymer to post for me but I think he is in hibernation with the cold down here. Sent them up to JosephR where the sun shines a little brighter and warmer but I think he must be out surfing. SNUKES too busy with the bulk ordering process but obviously has the skills to do anything with computers. In the meantime I better get back to earning a dollar but will be going into "theatre" this afternoon so will hopefully post some pictures of the facelift job later in the day to "Patience".

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Gee, thanks Hymer, bluey, Rob. That's almost as good as Chrysler jeep fiat dadge, ram,USA etc etc. Just leaving to do some work when with a final check noticed you have done a wonderful job.

More pictures this afternoon if possible. Speaking to the doc (Shane of Racewrap) outside the operating theatre at 7.30am this morning he was explaining the strength of the film he would be using during the operation. I said to Shane that I had done my internet research but it is more comforting when you can see it in the flesh by an Ozzie operator rather than a US video clip. Anyway, Doc got out this metal item and applied enormous pressure into the film. So much pressure the metal bent. Hopefully when this facelift is applied to my girl it will offer some protection to preserving her beauty. It is not foolprooth. A sharp object hitting her face in excess of 100km per hour may penetrate the absorbing forces of this material. That is the chance you take I suppose. Anyway, I have been invited to look on for a short while so I am hoping to post another pic or two later in the day.
It's a full make over, paintwork, glass (including pano), carpets, leather, wheels, internal paint (doorsills etc). I was surprised when Shane pointed out that my car already had a little patch of this material on her. Look just forward of your rear wheels and you will see a small patch just at the rear of the guard closest the rear wheel that has been applied by the manufacturer. Thanks again Rob.

Hi Webber. Congrats on the stunning new machine. Have been enjoying your posts and photos as I have yet to see a MY14 here in NZ and dealers here still have no info. One question I have that I am sure you or someone here can answer is is the diesel the same engine as a MY13 or is it the 'Eco diesel' I am reading about in the US, but without the urea component?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

hi guys, thank you so much for all the info re the my14, as l have stated in earlier posts this will be our first jeep ( my14 laredo crd ) and we have just been waiting for the dealerships to have something to let us play with before signing on the dotted line. I was just wondering if anyone has a track record with Berwick Jeep dealership as l will be traveling quite a way to pay a visit tomorrow and don't really want to develope a connection unless they treat you well. I'm not looking to dig dirt or anything just a simple ( good idea or look elsewhere ) will do. thank you much appreciated.

Thursday apparently for us Frad. How it takes 3 days to wash and detail and register a car is beyond me.
