Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I just ordered a 2014 GC 4X4 Ltd on Friday after negotiating a contract and got a email from Jeep this morning, Monday through their VOTS, VON system indicating that the GC is scheduled for production and listed all the opts that I wanted were available. Their VON system reports where the vechicle is in the production cycle. Woo Woo.

That is cool if you are not in a rush. I would go loopy if I had to wait that long. Did part of that route this time last year, dying to do it all again.

Yea, but an SD card will read a crap load slower than a SSD (solid state disk) have a fairly modern JVC unit at the moment and it uses an SD, am not impressed at all.

Apparently exFAT formatting does not work, FAT32 and NTFS do.
64GB also works fine for SD Card and USB, both were formatted to NTFS.

Source:

64Gb SD Card

Not sure about audio formats, the user manual is useless.

14s don't have hard drives, regarding sd cards, the gb capacity doesn't really matter, but i think a sdhc class 6 and above should be used as they have quicker data transfer capabilities. I think i will use the usb port more then the sd.

Not all SD Cards are created equal. You can get different classes, 4, 6, 8 & 10.
Not all Class 10 cards are created equal.
They have different speed ratings.

A Sandisk Class 10 Extreme card has a read/write speeds of up to 45MB/s Sandisk Class 10 Extreme Pro card has a read/write speeds of up to 95MB/s
I just purchased a 64GB Sony card for my video camera as it has read/write speeds of up to 94MB/s, but $55 cheaper than the Sandisk Extreme Pro.

Is your music in MP3 or AAC (iTunes)? I have a huge iTunes collection of all my CD's but they are backed up in AAC. I would hate to have to convert everything to MP3.
