They certainly collected noticeable condensation but it easily disappears. Hopefully this is an intended consequence.

We were advised that it is approx 10k difference between laredo/limited [with any other LCT to be taken into consideration], and like mentioned before 'be careful what add-ons you put on, and re-consider potential resale value'.

We havent seen any other pricing as of yet in regards to competitors [quotes have been requested] but we're at the stage where we have waited and the price isn't unreasonable. At the early stages they provided us with as much info as they could, with the remainder of the information being found on this forum. A lot more information has come out now to the dealers and they're up to speed, well at least JH seem to be. We cannot complain about the service that we've had at all really.

If you are looking to trade in your car, consider the possibility of selling whole sale. We are trading in a 2007 toyota camry sportivo and there is nearly a $2000 difference in values, and JH aren't offering any benefits on a 'no-trade sale'.

EDIT: Shertim, was that for a MY14 model?
We went through JH, Joe was the salesman and was more than accommodating with information when he had it. We have a Loredo V6 due in on the 26th boat as well.

Well worth having a chat to JH

Don't forget the water fording depth is 508mm, the headlights are higher than this.

Hear, hear! Webber, we have had our '13 Overland CRD since February and the pano roof was the purchase clincher. It is wonderful to drive through a forest down south (we're in WA), looking up at the trees overhead or to watch the rain hitting the glass above. Only time we have it closed is on really hot days when the SPF30+ would be required. Having the glass open is good at suburban speeds, but a bit noisy on the highway.

I love the ACC too, like having an extra pair of eyes on the road, except better. The kids think the auto tailgate is very cool, but I do like my flipper glass.

Webber, I have to say it is great reading your updates, the anticipation, the last minute will it-won't it worries, the eventual delivery and the joys of discovering each new feature. They remind us of our own Jeep journey. I hope you continue to be delighted with 'Patience', I know that I look forward to each drive to & from work and still take any excuse to 'drive to the shop' for something.

So hopefully my wait for my beast is not far off. The ship docks tomorrow in Melbourne. Does anyone have any knowledge on how long it takes for the cars to go from dock to dealer?

Regarding Headlight Fogging, have you read this thread?
Fogging inside headlights

Guys, dont be afraid to look at threads OTHER than this one. There is a lot of info if you care to look around.

Not only this, but if moisture is allowed to enter the headlight, then corrosion on the electrical terminals is unavoidable.

I'm not disputing what you have been told, however i'm finding it hard to fathom.
Yeah seems a bit on the nose. If water could enter the old sealed units, then it would have to be able to get out. Also no other car maker seems to have this issue with their sealed lights. 130k ks on my current Subaru living in the tropics, no leaks. My sons Mazda 60k ks in the tropics.... no leaks. Holden had a crook batch in the 90's, the VR Commodore I think. They replaced/repaired them all.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Guys there is a difference between WATER in the headlights and CONDENSATION.
From what I have read in the other threads it is normal and goes away. Jeep would not have designed it that way if it was a problem.
Also if you are Fjording your jeep up to the headlights, water in the lights will be the least of your worries. I think Hydrolock will happen well before the water gets into the lights, or the car starts to float.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Webber, great to see your reviews on the new car.
In regards to the ACC, just be careful in roundabouts. I was driving on the Great Western Highway with the ACC set to 110km/h. This road changes from 40-100km/h every 100m, so the ACC makes the drive easier. Going through a roundabout, the car accelerated unexpectedly when the car in front turned thought he roundabout. I guess the ACC lost the lock on the car and it assumed it was open road. It scared the crap out of me as it happened without warning.
So just be aware when driving with the ACC on that roundabouts can cause problems.

As for the Pano roof, Meh I never use it and would prefer to have the additional headroom. This was one of the reasons I was looking at an SRT, as you can have all the options without the Pano roof.

Had a ride in a very nice Merc once, it's ACC interfaced with the GPS and would automatically slow the car down when it approached a T intersection, you would take a turn and it would speed up again by itself. I am gathering the GC one does not do this?
