I not sure what it means for Australia but I'm going to ask a couple I know whether there could be an impact for our MY14s. I hope so as I wouldn't mind a free tow-bar.

I do feel bad, though, for those who did pay for their bars.
Isn't that for the old models currently under scrutiny?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thankyou for all the info Milous, its nice to know what I am getting and when. It makes a change to know when I can fly down to Perth and finally pick it up which looks like it will be the 20th of July. Now all I have to do is work out how to run it in on a 1600 Km drive back to Port Hedland.

Great that you love your MY14. Love Cherry Red. Agonised on whether to go Red before taking the safe option of white which I am very happy with. That concrete pad aint big enough though with those two jeeps already there. You will need to add an extra bay for the Summit when it probably turns up with the next major body change.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks Webber. The Summit - ah... yes, wouldn't that be lovely. If it eventually arrives in the next year or three perhaps we will upgrade.

Re: the recall mentioned up-thread. That only applies to '93-'04 GC's. We are sitting on another recall notice for our WK for a software upgrade that stops the gearshift inadvertently moving into neutral. That fix will be available in July.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks for the quick info everyone! I have been following this thread for months, trying to decide on a tow vehicle. We were all set to order a Laredo, CRD when I saw this article. The number of recalls has me questioning our decision a bit... Wish I had a crystal ball.

Buster - Buy the Laredo. You won't regret it. The recent recalls are all for older models. I don't think (but I stand to be corrected) that any WK2's have been recalled (?)

G'day Buster,

All cars have the possibility of ending up with a recall, even the so called reliable brands have been susceptible to it of late with Toyota, VW and others having major recalls. As has been pointed out, the Jeep recall is for old models that have nothing to do with this model.

Recalls for problems are not an issue in themselves. It is when there is a problem with a car and the car company refuses to recall - that is when you have a problem.

VW have just had a lesson in how not to run a recall.

Hi all

Excuse my ignorance what is ORII. I have asked my dealer and he has no clue.

I am soon to take delivery of Overland CRD in 2 to 3 weeks and have to finalize payment.

Thanks
