Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It often baffles me how a "dealer" could not know this information. Tell me it WAS a Jeep dealer, and not a drug dealer.

I usually see it written as ORAII (not ORII) so it's not really totally the dealers fault.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yes, There is. A Drug dealer knows his product, and makes more money.
A Jeep dealer, cant get product, and many sell so many different products that they dont know much about them.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

The above post just made my day!

I wish sales personnel were a bit more passionate about the products they sell. It is common that I find a salesperson knows less than a quick internet search will reveal. It makes me wonder how good a product is if the sales person is not a keen to find out all about it.

RockyAus, I too have ordered a white CRD Overland, black interior, ORAII and towbar. Do you mind telling me when you ordered? I ordered mine only recently (early June). Have you got your car yet? did you get ORAII?

Thanks .

Hi Sparky, no ORAII, ordered tow bar, Anderson plug, side steps. Order was placed mid December 2012.

The dealer has advised - it's in the country sitting at pre car just waiting for it to clear marine inspection.

The dealer is pushing to arrange delivery before the end of this month.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

OK - so is there a thread somewhere on JG whereby you cursed the vehicle only to find out that actually, you should have read the manual?

Not sure I should admit this -

Driving home today - enjoying the ride... (refer Webber's poetic-ness) and all of a sudden I lose complete illumination on the dash as well as the touchscreen.

Car driving fine though - music still playing. Concerned but can't do anything - country road with no pull over areas - another car up my backside. 4 minutes from home though.

Drive up and park. Exit vehicle and start on at husband who is building stuff. Ranting and raving - something about only having the bloody car for 24 hours and there's a problem etc etc...

He, putting down tools, very calmly says 'tell me what happened'.

He looks at it and says (like he's talking to a 2 year old which is on retrospect appropriate) - 'were you in shade - did it get sort of dark?'

Umm... yes?

OK - car has turned on headlamps - did you notice headlamp symbol on dash?'

Uhhh... yes ... but everything else was dark.

To which he says - 'there's a rotary dial at the very right - turn it up, lets test' 'Ahh... that's ok now isn't it'

Setting on illumination was at its lowest. Headlights came on when it sensed low light even though it was only 3pm and illumination setting because it was set at it's lowest deadened all visuals.

How embarrassing. Can I blame being female?

When you pick up your new one, check that dimmer rotary dial. OK?

Edited to add: It's page 88-89 of the manual. (Scurries off to continue reading)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

You are forgiven. No one reads beyond Page 52 of the Manual. There isn't too many images in that back section.
