Have I got that right auscop?

I suppose if we were to use the correct acronym, it should be the ORAG II - but somehow I don't think it sounds right....

That sounds spot on to me mate. It is quite funny watching some of the reviews of the MY14 GC on YouTube most of them take place in the US. What they refer to "off road" most of the time is just hilarious. One guy who actually did a very good review I thought of the CRD was driving up a river bed, you could tell he was having fun doing it as in the US most rivers have water in them. What cracked me up was he kept referring to it as a "sand river"..

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just took delivery of my MY14 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland in Max steel. 5.7L V8
Took the v8 as I would have had to wait until October for a diesel.

Love my new car.

Apparently the first Overland delivered in Perth.

If anything, the only "GO" was at dumb dealers who don't know the products they sell.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Anyone thinking of getting a long range tank for the GC? I gather one of these would fit GRAND CHEROKEE WK 2011 on

Not sure what it would do for ground clearance...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

My neighbour has just picked up a black Limited V8.
The interior is very impressive. I did a check on the navigation system, and found it to be a lot slower than my MY12 when keying in a destination. The buttons seem to take 3 times as long to accept data. Must be because mine writes to a HDD and theirs writes to a SD card.
However, it appears to correctly route to destinations, unlike the MY11-MY13's, which is a great thing.
Another thing which I noticed was the heavy condensation in the headlights. When others were mentioning it, I envisaged a slight fogging. However, this car had very visible drops of water running down the glass.
He also said he had a problem with the climate control, where although both sides had been set to the same temp, one side of the car was cold while the other hot. May be a problem with this particular car.

You would expect the exact opposite SD card will allow data access far quicker.
Maybe its CPU is simply underpowered for all of the functions it does.
Good to hear it directs correctly, there is no excuse these days there are far to many good map data programs to draw from.

Our MY06 Pajero Exceed GPS is just pointless. Better of throwing a dart at a globe for destination, and flick a stream of paint across it for the route.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Webber, where are you?? Calling Mr Webber.

You've had your magnificent new machine for a few days now, hows it going?
Up to expectation?
And what did you think of your Glad Wrap job?
Tempted to extend the Go Pedal a bit on the way to Bendigo?

Can you find the time to give us poor waiting cattle a glimpse of what we may eventually get in the fullness of time!!
(My beast is on a train halfway between Detroit and Curtiss Bay)
I may see it in August sometime.

Anyways, Webber, hows it going?

Bluey

Hi Bluey (Rob). I had taken up so much space recently I thought it wise to back off for a while. I haven't really got much "solid" new to report at the moment. Only one trip to Benalla (400Km trip) last Wednesday and I did give some reporting on that trip with respect to ACC, Automatic High Beam and the Sunroof. Being self employed has many negatives. We have two staff on holidays, one in Cairns and one in the USA and we know they have "hired" a Jeep Grand Cherokee and are doing more driving than us (wife and I). The car has been garage-bound since Wednesday as two other staff cannot deal with the public and our remaining "sales" girl quit on the spot last Thursday and walked out in the middle of the day. That Leaves my wife and I to steer the ship until one of the girls returns from Holidays in a week and half. Very frustrating. I have been going out after returning home from our business, turning on the lights in the shed (garage) to just look at her lines and run a chamois over her. I am unlikely to bond with her on the highway until well into the week after next. Haven't even had time to study the manual.
HOWEVER.....She is glistening in that shed. The 3M film is fine. Almost invisible. I was expecting to read some more stories from others who must be laying down more kilometres than me at the moment like SJandL and poor old frad1312 who is obviously in the dog house are destroying the boss'es car.
However, I am viewing all posts so keep the site alive guys.

Hey SNUKE, just as a matter of interest. How is the bulk buy deal going? The idea is great and you deserve congratulations for the work you have obviously done behind the scenes. I hope some of the guys are advancing with their orders because the excruciating wait starts from when the bulk deal concludes. You guys need nerves of steel.
