So just an update with small teething issues.. As I have been in the dog house, I've had limited access due to animal encounters.. So sorry about that..

We have only just got 300k's on ours.. So not a huge time to figure things out..

Headlights: Are still fogging, I've had many cars with HID's and never had anything like this. I have no worries that if it does cause discoloration my dealer will change the lights out.. But still something to keep an eye on.

Climate control: Ours to seems to do hot one side cold the other when set to sync / auto on a cold morning.. Doesn't seem to be an issue just have to un-sync and turn the other side a deg or two below.. Still will mention on the 5000k checkup.

Lights: Our light won't work on the park setting when car is running.. Park mode is meant to dim the DRL's and run the interior lights.. No strangely when the car is set to ACC "just before its started" the parking light work as they should. However if u have set them to park mode when in ACC and then do foot on break and run they turn the lights off all together. Which means if we go into a car park to get interior light we have to set to full on.. My wife commented that Auto seems to turn the lights on in full sun and does not switch them off again. So I'll be looking at that soon and tell the dealer at the 5000k..

Apart from that Love this GC!! Are is Brisbane for the Lions Test and was a wonderful weekend getaway car.. Nav is amazing, my 08 foresters maps were so only in the end you didn't bother to use them.. So it's great to have good maps and the speed alerts work well to!

Anyways will post more info as I find it!

Congrats to all that have there JGC and hope the rest get them ASAP!!

Last note for any 3.6 buyers our fuel economy is sitting around 12L/100km work out when topping up.. So happy with that as that's mostly city driving.. The thing I like the most is this engine is SUPER quiet! Have been asked if it was running or off a few times. So great to drive..

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I drove from Sydney to the Gold coast and still had 1/3 of a tank. Averaged 8.1l/100km for the trip. I generally sat on 10km/h over the limit the whole time.

To the point, SJandL you posted that a tank will get about 700km for your new crd.

Browsing back through the pages the fuel economy for the crd was stated at 7.8l/100km highway. With a 100l tank the figures just don't add up, or are you just driving up sandy rivers?

My concern is one of the reasons I ordered the new crd is the fuel economy would allow me +1000k best case.

Have any of the privileged few with a new crd been able to get anywhere near the oem stated performance?

When open road driving, my on board computer regularly tells me I have over 1200 km range on a tankful , 93 lts , (CRD). Note, the display only reads to 999 km, but I cover well over 200km before the 999 starts to reduce. I have seen 7.1 lt/100 several times on a gentle trip to Sydney. 2014 will be better that these figures !
LOVE that Jeep. !!
Just sold the 2012 , 2014 jobbie arrives this Friday !!! Red/beige Limited

Yep, noticed yours IBAJ, arrived Curtiss Bay May6 and departed May21.

But Ive seen other OZ My14's arrive and depart within a few days or a week.

I think its due to the vessels arrival and departure at the docks.

I see that the next Willenius vessel is due to leave CB for melbourne on 1st July but Im not sure if thats a car carrier or not. Its described as a heavy machinery carrier, the next one is a week later.

Will be 9 months in August, time to have conceived an delivered a baby!!A big fat red 4x4 baby!!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I don't understand the vast differences with the timeframes of delivery of the vehicles. I understand Webber getting his first (he's been waiting forever), but for us we only placed our order on March 11th I think it was and I think Frad also placed his order in early March.

Yet both of us have taken delivery. Unbelievably frustrating for those that have placed orders well before us. I dunno... I would have assumed First In, First to be delivered. 'Tis odd. I don't understand.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

The time spent at Curtis Bay is governed by several factors. Remember, these shuips are not carrying only Jeeps, but other cars and cargo.
So besides the availability of empty spaces, and available boats, there is also the issue of the number of vehicles going to the various ports along the way.
From what I have seen, the text "Constructive Placement" could mean grouping by Country, Grouping by shipment, then grouping by Port.
I have seen cars arrive and get onto a boat with 2 days, while other cars that have been waiting on the wharf for weeks, get left there.
The trick is, once the car arrives at Curtis Bay, you are at least out of the dreaded Detroit holding yards, where I have seen cars sit for months, and it is only 3 legs of the journey to complete. The Voyage, Prix Cars, and finally Pre-Delivery.

My guess is that the bigger and better dealers (with higher sales) got first pick and get looked after a bit better by jeep au than the smaller/remote dealers (mine- Launceston TAS)

Also I think even orders and deals done in 2012 (mine1/12/12) weren't officially accepted by jeep AU until march 2013 so depends how quickly you dealer put the order in?

Could be wrong by that's my thoughts.

My GC is supposed to arrive in melb now (23/6) so hopefully not to much longer to get it across bass straight.

Id say it would have something to do with colours. They would have to do a number of vehicles of the one colour in a batch. I cant see them cleaning all the spray equipment multiple times a day.

All to do with the size of the dealer, the efficiency of the dealer, what you ordered and dumb ass luck. I never officially ordered a GC, but if all goes well this time in 2 weeks I will have owned a CRD Overland for a whole 24hrs. Needless to say this is dumb ass luck..

My neighbour, who had his V8 Black Limited delivered last Tuesday, only placed his order in April.

Are you picking it up in Sydney and then driving it back to Alice Auscop? That'll give it a nice run.
