Has anyone who has taken delivery, taken a look at the front lower fascia to see if the two panels pop out so that tow hook can be fitted?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Am back.

Drivers side only appears to be a removeable section (have taken pic) but he couldn't get his hand under there properly due to the skid plate.

In the back, in amongst the spare tyre is a tow hook/eye that we presume is able to be screwed into that location once that panel is off.

Will upload pics....

I took the early delivery option 2 weeks ago. Part of the reason for not waiting another 3+ months was my lease runs out before I would take delivery. I would have liked the upgraded seats but..............
Only you can make the choice

IWAJ - Pics

Drivers side - lower fascia panel (I think it needs a wash already) Front passenger side equivalent has no removal panel

Screw in tow hook/eye thingee included with the spare.

The towing is barley good enough for a flat bead towing on to flat bed tow truck

When you investigate further the real issue is how the towing eye screws into a small hollow box section which is located to the chassis with a 10ml bolt

Certainly would not be suitable for vehicle stuck on the beach or in a mud hole.

Seems like jeep Australia have once again failed us in Australia

Don't tell me jeep au have done it again. I still have not seen anyone confirm that recovery hooks can be fitted to the MY14.

Where are our dealer friends - Alex???

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Needed no rescuing on the weekend my old man picked up his Laredo Saturday, and I took him out to test its capabilities Sunday. He didn't go where my JK went (only having 200km on the odo) but it was good to see it all working as it should. Ill have some answers regarding recovery hooks within the next week, first stop is seeing if they have changed from MY13, if so then working out where to obtain them from to retro fit. As I know more Ill let you know.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Can assure you on Laredo it was a $1000 price increase from a previously negotiated price on an MY13 that they couldn't supply. Took delivery Saturday with little issue. Slight gripe with the center console coating already flaking (warranty) and small scratches/scuffs around the car will be sorted when they install the rear reverse camera or I will do the paint correction myself and be done with it.
