Oops my mistake i had long forgotten about rds on conventional radio broadcasts. I hope thats not the case though as the specs suggest the 8.4 supports dab, would hope that they'd at least be upgraded to dab+ via some form of firmware update

Something to watch out for with 4x4 insurance is to make sure you are adequately covered for remote areas and off road use, if you have an accident back of the black stump - what is actually covered? Are you covered for transport back home for the car, you and the trailer? Depends if you intend this sort of use or are you just using the car in suburbia? Some of the online policies may not suit your intended use.

Not sure, you planning on spending a lot of time on your back looking at the ceiling?
Jokes aside, here is an interior pic labeled 2011 Limited, so I would see no reason that they would change the scheme to darker for light interior.

You can see more interior pics here

Edit: just found these taken by a dealer listing.
This makes me much happier about going the lighter interior.
It looks great and lightens up the entire car inside.

Also has anyone taken ownership of a my14 Laredo on here yet? What exactly did it come standard with? Were all windows tinted or were just the back ones? We are in the process of negotiating a final price and if they can't budge dollar wise, would be nice to get a couple of options added on.
In the US, it was said that Nav could be unlocked on the Laredo by the dealer.
It is either fully installed and disabled, or not installed at all and the dealer installs it.

Tint is not part of the Laredo

Looks like there is no DAB+, which is not good news for anyone who listens to AM.
I would have thought it would be standard in our market to have this now.
Does that mean we can't listen to ABC as we travel Australia?

"The laredo misses out on heated rear seats, leather , power rear lift gate, GPS, USB s in back, reclinable rear seats, front and rear sensors, nicer stereo, tinted windows, memory wheel, seat, and mirror position."

I can confirm having a laredo in the driveway that the rear seats do recline.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have a DAB+ Radio at my desk and it can pickup many more stations than conventional AM. ABC for example has up to 5 digital stations in Sydney, when they only have 2 normally. Being that analogue TV is being switched off in Sydney this year, I am sure a time will come when Analog radio will also be turned off.
For anyone who has not heard a DAB+ broadcast, the difference is like the difference between AM and CD.

Good thing someone s got their act together .

One thing I do like about the rear seats is they have nothing under them and go totally flat when you put them down, so much easier to load things into.

Hey SJandL

Checked we don't have a separate book for the head unit and I know remember the dealer saying it was all part of the one big book now.. Don't know how true that is but in our black case we have, manual, warranty & service, separate warranty terms book.. That's the lot..

Any luck checking the lights.. Was thinking of testing some JGC at the dealers on the weekend to see if mine is a one off..

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi Frad

Just back from the dealership to have a PCM update. Took about 30 mins and all they know was that it was requested by Chrysler that it be applied as soon as possible and something to do with the transmission.

Your manuals are exactly what we were given and the dealer did say that there is a separate U-connect one that they are still waiting on. I think Webber might be the only one to have it so far.

Sorry, have not tested the lights yet. Will do so this afternoon when and if this weather stops pissing down. It's horrible out there - acreage flooded, dams overflowing, bridges closed etc.

My understanding of the transmission software update was to fix a problem when the transmission downshifted, apparently quite harshly on occasion.
The other update to look out for, is to upgrade the touch screen panel. It supposedly makes it much more responsive. The download is done via a USB memory after downloading from the US Driveuconnect.com website. Look for support/jeep then system updates.
You can also get the icon next user manual if you are missing one!
