Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks to ZILLAJNR for the close up ics of the Tow Hok area.
He said it loked like the entire area, not just a small section will come out.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks SNUKE for posting the pics above. You can see where i jammed my finger nail in on both sides of the panel that it will indeed be able to pop out. What i couldn't see is what is behind the panel. I tried to look underneath and from the side of the lower grill but cannot see anything to suggest that the recovery tow hook can or cannot be fitted.
We need someone who has a MY14 to remove their lower bumper fascia (twisting about 7 plastic large screw plugs 1/4 of a turn from underneath, i believe) to be able to then take pictures where the recovery hook should go. Pics from the front and below the tow hook location would be good. This should then be able to determine if they can be fitted on a MY14.

Anyone up for the challenge?

I also now realise why with the CD player installed the centre console lid does not come with the extra parcel shelf...i bet it is so when the CD is ejected with the lid closed the CD will not make contact with the underside of the lid (as it's missing the extra tray area).

I bet you could swap the CD player and the SD memory slots around, with a bit of custom work, replace the plastics of the internal centre compartment with a Laredo unit and the underside of the centre compartment lid to get the necessary storage space back and also to get the extra tray under the lid as a bonus.

The bottle to apply it yourself is the best way.

Whenever I drive someone else's car or rental in the rain it drives me insane, I wonder how they can see.
In good rain, above 80kmh, I don't use wipers, it just flys off.
I actually apply the Rain-X once and the additive will maintain the effectiveness of the Rain-X forever providing you use the jets to clean your windscreen.

Cannot wait to take delivery of my GC!

Good to know, will do.
I use the squeegy at the servo or a microfibre cloth to clean the screen.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi everyone, I have a question about the availability of the spider monkey wheels in "black vapor chrome" being available as an option on the 2014 SRT. Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - 2011-2014 Grand Cherokee Wheels and tires suggests they are an option along with the "satin carbon" spider monkey wheels. Since the car built for my original order was sold by the dealer to somone who presumably wanted to pay more for it and skip the queue, I'm now ordering another car elsewhere and would like the spider monkey wheels and would prefer the "black vapor chrome" option if available. I'll settle (though I appreciate it's still a fantastic second choice) for the "satin carbon" if not.

Thanks,

GB

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I asked the Dealer in Brookvale about that option.
He said that the black spider monkey wheels were not an option, only the silver SM ones.

This is correct as per the internal email I saw recently. This option has only just become available, so it MAY delay the production of your car.

oops....the management thing said to put in at least three characters.. Hey it worked. Thanks Hymer for that. Sorry about the pic. I had no idea what I was doing but have managed to post a picture, albeit it a very old one. Where have the years gone. That's me on the left 43 years ago and the guy on the right became my best man. Now I better get serious and post some pictures of JEEP48, ha, ha.
Next time I will be more careful what I click on.
