275/65/18s also fit with quadralift - couple of guys on the aus jeep site have chucked that size on in the maxxis in the my13 and said its tight, but no rubbing.

Good morning all. I've just spent 10 days traveling the Flinders and Gammon Ranges, the Strezlecki Track, Cameron Corner and Innaminka with not a Jeep in sight. I actually went with my Dad in his Hyundai iX35 and had no problems. The reason for saying this is he originally had Kumho tyres and we changed them for the Bridgestone D697. We saw many damaged vehicles and camper trailers especially around Innaminka where the road was shocking. I'm not so sure the Kumho would of met the challenge and I will seriously consider changing mine over for a set of Bridgestones. I've ordered the Overland with Adventre Pack, so I'm getting an 18" wheel. My plan will be the 265/60R18 LT. I certainly haven't bought a Toorak tractor and plan to go back in my Jeep. Maybe Auscop can be the first one to test the desert crossing on his way back to Alice Springs.

Good morning all, I am hoping someone here can help me out. I ordered a MY14 Laredo with satnav and front & rear sensor. I've just received a call from my dealer in Melbourne to say they cannot upgrade the 8.4" screen with Satnav nor install the front and rear sensors. Has anyone else ordered this upgrade on a Laredo and been able to actually get it? If so, could you please tell me who was the dealer so I can get my dealer to contact them to sort this out.

Just wondering how the bridgestones would compare wit the BFG all terrains?

Anyone got a view on those 2 options?

I like the BF Goodrich, but one question will the width be a problem in the spare wheel compartment?

Really, that seems odd. In the US the nav can be added by the dealer

As for park sensors, any car can have these added one way or another.
This seems very strange for a car you are ordering and not just taking from built stock.

I already informed the dealer that the US website already advises that Satnav and Parking sensors are an available option for a Laredo. I am at a loss as well as to how they can say that the upgrades are not possible. To be honest, if HQ and the dealer cant get this right, I am worried what will happen when (if) a problem does arise.

Thanks for the response, I guess I'll have to hold the dealers hand through this process.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Remember that the CD player is listed as optional, and should therefore be available to be removed form a car too, but all dealers have said not possible.
It may have something to do with the maps we use, but even then I don’t understand it.
The units are the same from a hardware standpoint, a GPS antenna needs to be added to the car, and the rest is software, again, the same with a map that gets installed.

That said, most nav in cars suck and a separate GPS is usually better, but of course messier.
Parking sensors, I don’t get unless it is a local testing thing. But parking sensors can be fitted to cars that aren’t designed for them anyway, unless the electronic shifter causes issues now.

Well folks after constant lies by the dealer and their absolute refusal to accept that satnav and sensors can be upgraded I have cancelled my order. I wish everyone here the best of luck with their cars and hope you all get what you expect. As for me i'm off to buy a Prado.

Have you considered getting a Limited? For a little extra you will get both of those options as standard.

I did, but apparently it's a 3-4 month wait and I really can't afford another 3-4 months after what has already been 6 months with no car.

Shame really as I do love the look of it.

Prado, 127kw power; 410nm torque kakadu $91,000

MY14 184kw power 570nm LTD $65,000

Zamo, why worry about sensors and navsat when they can be easily added.
Navsat are for those that are getting lost and sensors are for those that use "The bump Method" of driving.

Just find a decent dealer who knows what theyre talking about and you will get a far better product.
Your choice anyway but get your priorities right.
