Zamo35, how could you go with a Prado. Spill the beans with Shannon and tell him your problems and ask him for his help. Let him know he can't let a fellow jeepgarage forum member down.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

HI Guys,

Firstly I want to say I love everyones enthusiasm for the MY14 JGC. I too am in the same boat that is why I happily waited 6 months and did not complain once or hassel the dealer.

What got my goat is the lies by the dealer and the complete lack of information to me. I work in a highly stressful service industry and should I treat my clients the way I have been treated then needless to say they would no longer be a client.

Well I have taken everyones advice and got in contact with the guys at Werribee and all I can say is all the rumours are true. These guys know the car, work hard at meeting the customers wants and needs and have just offered me a fantastic deal on a overland. Now I am waiting for the better half (the wife) to authorise the deal and I should be driving away in a brand new White Overland on Tuesday.

Good to hear Zamo35, I managed to get a hold of Ltd GC with luxury option and in the colour I wanted pick up in 3weeks, just goes to show if the ask the right questions and you are ready to put ink to paper a good dealer will work hard for you.

Lol.

Test drove an overland today in the diesel . Man there is a lot of gears!

Drove nicely, and quite a bit of power, but I'd rather a limited I think. For no apparent reason, the brake alarm came on, fark me, couldn't for the life of me figure it out, then realised what it was all about. But it was loud, disturbing and flashing all over the place, and would annoy me more than iPhone constant spell checking!

I drive far too fast for that sort of namby pamby nanny shit in my cars!

Well all, thanks to all of you for keeping me on the straight and narrow. I have received authorisation from the Finance Minister (wife) and have now ordered a bright white Overland with Black interior and will be collecting this on Tuesday.

If I may I would want to say a big thank you to Werribee Jeep. These guys know their stuff and will bend over backwards to make the deal happen.

Again thank you to everyone here, I always loved this car and I am so glad to be getting one. Just a shame that a poor dealership (in the outer Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne) can leave a bitter taste.

Hi Zamo
Please take the time to talk to Shannon at Werribee. I originally took Webber's advice several weeks ago, got a great deal, and waiting for delivery mid July (except that bloody ship still hasn't docked at Brisbane - a day late now). Just mention this forum and that you were recommended by Webber and others to visit. Worth the drive and time. Ring Shannon prior to going.

In a months time, I want you to drive into a Toyota dealer and hop in a Prado Altitude and then tell us what you think.

We saw many damaged vehicles and camper trailers especially around Innaminka where the road was shocking. I'm not so sure the Kumho would of met the challenge and I will seriously consider changing mine over for a set of Bridgestones. I've ordered the Overland with Adventre Pack, so I'm getting an 18" wheel. My plan will be the 265/60R18 LT. I certainly haven't bought a Toorak tractor and plan to go back in my Jeep. Maybe Auscop can be the first one to test the desert crossing on his way back to Alice Springs.
You know what Butts_Oz, I actually did think about doing a desert crossing home, would make a fantastic blog. If I had another 4wd traveling with me it would be tempting. However the thought of getting home and trying to remove sand from places that sand shouldn't be on a one week old car quickly made me drop the idea.

That's a done deal. I know deep down the Jeep is the right car, I guess I let my emotions take control. Every now and then we're all entitled to a little tantrum
