After a lesson in patience since end of April I will finally meet my black beast tomorrow morning. The last week has been hectic with last minute efforts to get the beauty out of the clutches of Prixcar and into the dealer. Well this morning the effort paid off with the car arriving at the dealer this morning. Thank you to my contacts at Prixcar and Ace Car Freighters who helped move the my Ltd CRD along the golden path. First action after pick up will be a two hour wax operation in my garage. Told the chief whip (my wife) to found me out tomorrow.

Lol. I'll let the missus know that Pharmaboy! I was I little nervous with the whole Uconnect thing. So we got Ben (city Jeep Melbourne) to sync my iPhone while I was there. It was a synch. Pink Floyd came straight up through the speakers (last thing I was listening too at the office). I was nervous as all heck driving her home. I had

Another option is the aftermarket Polaris unit Ph 1300 555514.
I have decided to buy a Limited as it is better value. (Placed an order today $65,886 on road).
Hi GForce, congrats on the purchase. Do you know when you're due to receive it? thanks,

Thanks, if all goes to plan I have been quoted 9th Oct for delivery. I am also having the wheels changed over to the 18 inch, which the dealer is happy to do at no charge.

Hi all, as you have read I have made the commitment to buy a GC Limited, there are a few questions in my mind that some of you out there may be able to clear up for me, so here goes...

Q1. When you buy a Jeep out of your area ( mine is coming from a dealer 150 Km away) are there any problems that crop up regarding servicing and warranty issues being performed by our local dealer who is 15 mins away from our home.

Q2. Anyone know if the installed CD player can be removed from the centre console, I haven't used the CD player in my 02 Nissan Patrol since I purchased it new, however I do need the storage space that the console would normally provide.

Q3. I am getting the Limited 20 inch wheels changed over for the 18 inch due to the fact I am intending to tow our Van around Aust which will include lots of gravel roads, has anyone noticed if the spare wheel is an alloy or steel rim? Much prefer an alloy.

Q4. Does the Limited have a built in anti theft alarm, or do you need to fit one yourself? I have read where the American models do, but no mention of this in the Brochure for the Aust model.

Q5. Have ordered the Limited with the standard Capri Leather Trim in Light Frost Beige but I see on the brochure there is also an option of perforated Nappa Leather, does anyone know the difference apart from the obvious perforations? ( To me in the brochure the Nappa Leather looks a little darker in the Light Frost Beige).

Q6. The dealer is selling me the "Protection Pack" eg Paint, Interior, Rust proofing and Window Tinting for $1425, told this was half the normal price, has any one had this done and if so is it worth the cost?

Q7. Last query.. Promise , The Van my wife and I are towing with our new Jeep is almost 3000kg in weight and I was wondering if I should fit an oil cooler to the transmission.

Thanks, look forward to any advice received.

1. Servicing can be done by any MTA approved mechanic. Can void wtty if they dont use correct / jeep spec parts.

2. CD player is removable, however console bin to replace the CD must be installed. Take a look at a laredo without CD to see what it looks like.

3. & 4. Not sure. Dealer should be able to advise.

5. Nappa leather is also softer.

6. Can be done cheaper after market, however sometimes the convenience is worth a few extra $. Mixed reviews on if it works.

7. CRD and V8 come with tranny cooler.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

A1. Yes any Jeep dealer can do warranty work or servicing Oz wide

A2. Yes, but the parts costs may change your mind. Better to find a Laredo driver wanting a CD player and willing to swap.

A3. Spare is a 18" Steel from what I have seen

A4. Yes the Limited and Oveland have an alarm

A5. Apparently it is softer, but I have NFI

A6. It is a total ripoff. They usually outsource it to the detailers around the corner and pay them $300. I paid $88 to have my front 2 windows tinted and $1200+ will buy a hell of a lot of car care products. Tell the ming mole to rack off.

A8. It is always good insurance to keep the Temps down, but it may not be possible to fit after market. You may need to do some investigations or ask on the caravan forum.

I lol ed!

Yes rust protection for a galvanised car body should send warning bells off, the paint protection won't be a film protector, it will be paint sealant. Interior will be a can of scotch guard and maybe a leather treatment .

Window tint is only the front glass - $100. Put the money away and get your car detailed every 6 months , better use of the cash ( obviously don't buy anything at all from the Ming mole)

I was told that they put a clear UV film on all tinted windows not just tinting two front panels.

Assume that's for break in risk, so might be an idea for cars parked on the road in less savoury areas.
