I have not had the extra tinting done to my front windows but may. I was told the tint had UV Protection. They put clear film on the other windows not to tint but to give UV protection. It is clear but has the UV qualities in the clear film...if you can believe them.

Got the last 5 words right webber....

Depends on the type of glass, but generally is far superior uv blocking than the film, especially laminated glass. If you are a long haul trucky, it s relevant probably, for the rest of us the 99% block of glass is plenty.

Thanks for making it more clear re UV protection. If we are going to use our GC for extended periods in The Great Outdoors I think it makes good sense. It has been shown on numerous shows how the side of your face near the side window is damaged. Now that i am retired I intend to be out there a lot.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

[QUOTE=Gforce;849910]Hi all, as you have read I have made the commitment to buy a GC Limited, there are a few questions in my mind that some of you out there may be able to clear up for me, so here goes...

Q3. I am getting the Limited 20 inch wheels changed over for the 18 inch due to the fact I am intending to tow our Van around Aust which will include lots of gravel roads, has anyone noticed if the spare wheel is an alloy or steel rim? Much prefer an alloy.

Hi Gforce,
My 13 came with steel spare. I purchased an 18" Jeep alloy from from Murchison in Brisbane for $260 delivered to Sydney. I thinik he said he had another 3 of them left. They are second hand from people trading in their 18" for some other sizes but are still in as new condition.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Got sent photos of Baa Baa (Black Jeep) from the dealer yesterday. So sad that for one more week all I can do salivate on my keyboard. Until I can get down there.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Should I ask, Why is Baa Baa vertical?
Is that to save room at the dealership?

Baa Baa wasn't vertical when I uploaded him... her.. I think if you click on the photo once or twice then Baa Baa goes up the correct way.. Have not uploaded that many photos to the forum yet. Guess I should learn. Only been in IT for 25 yrs.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Nice trim Auscop.

I just also have to echo (again) Webber's review of the Adaptive Cruise Control.

Did the M5-M7-M2 haul last night, at times in torrential rain and the ACC coupled with the blind spot monitoring makes driving the freeways a whole different experience.

Absolutely brilliant. You initially don't trust it (as to be expected) but once you get used to it, see how it responds etc, you can basically rest your right foot on the floor and just steer.

Loving this vehicle.
