That's the complete opposite to our situation then. If we paid for the towbar upon delivery (as part of the original order if you like), then the cost would be $950. And we wait until they can install it.

My husband wanted the towbar price removed from the total vehicle price though to avoid paying LTC on it. (you blokes are so typical).

We were told then, that if we purchased the towbar at a later date, then the $950 price couldn't be locked in because it came from the service department not the 'new car sales' department - whatever (weird the way dealerships work) - but that the price then would probably be around the $1200 mark as Snuke has already suggested. An increase in price certainly but not even close to the 2k mark.

We went with the added extra at 'new car' time rather than go the 'service department and get it added later' route.

Towbar price for my SRT is $1495. Kind of exxy but I just CBF worrying about fitting one at a later date (blow the LCT SJandL lol).

Yeah we'll do anything to stop the government from getting our money!

I wish our situation was the same, would be easier to have it done and locked in at the start, but no way are we paying close to 2k for a tow bar. I will just have to cross my fingers I got told the correct thing.

Have you at least tried other dealers to see what deal you can get?

Nepean might be good, but not the cheapest.

If you check out the new GC brochure (as posted in this thread), it's listed as on option under the ORAII pack.
Ok, I remember a USA video review where they showed that feature, but they did not say it was optional. I would not pay for this, as the decent control is the main one and this is standard, I mean who the hell will be rock crawling in a $80k 4x4

FYI we are paying $1200 for towbar set up and $810 for electric brakes and Anderson plug

Exactly my thoughts DCRSRT.

So, I have a mexican standoff situation between my husband and the salesman (lovely man) and I'm thinking to myself... 'who gives a rats - are you guys serious.. (glaring at my husband in particular). Christ on a bike I'm thinking - JUST GIVE ME MY CAR!'

I stepped in - said 'Enough - I'm happy with the price'

I won. (don't we always)

New Question... Those of you who have the 2014 ( and possibly the 2013) model, will the fuel filler accept the larger quick fill nozzle as found at the diesel truck stops

Yes, but sometimes ya just gotta let the boys beat their chest.

On another note, a new friend who just got an SRT had 2 coffee travel mugs and T shirts thrown in. Might help offset the towbar and LCT issue lol.

No - It will only except the little nozzle. There is a funnel in the back however, whether that would allow the fast flow/bigger nozzle not sure? Haven't tried it yet (and probably won't either )

We did go to a couple of dealers over the past few weeks, and because of nepean's helpfulness and the way they treated us, when they did do us a price we were happy so bought it (minus the tow bar, which was the only thing we weren't happy with but hopefully will be in the end).
You are correct though, if we went to other dealers and pushed hard we probably would of been able to get better.
