Werribee Jeep want me to drop in the Mopar Accessory "Ambient Lighting" kit I purchased last year for my My12 which fell through as they want to view it and look at the instructions to give me an idea how and when they can fit it. They have not fitted one before. It is far superior to the Ambient lighting that comes stock standard in my MY14 CRD Overland which is just a small white light in the front footwell and under front seats with the lights directed onto the rear foot area. The kit I purchased includes extensive LED strip lighting that can be rotated through several colours.
Webber are you going to get the lights to sync in with the stereo? you could get rap music thumping away and have a good old disco in your car.

Yeah, the interior of car could well look and sound like a night club (not that I've been in one since the '70's. I will say though that the sound is excellent with 10 speakers.

They (CRD & V8) come with the Tow Group as part of their price. It doesn't include the hitch as we must have a different Hitch receiver to the US due to ADR.

Remove the hitch and wiring loom from the below US kit and you have the Tow Group we get as standard.

Basically they know lots of Aus people will fit a hitch, so they spec it as standard to be ready to have a local hitch fitted.

I believe the selec-speed comes standard only with the V8 engine and ORAII. Even in the Aus brochure it states this. I'm annoyed at this as i wanted the uphill ascent control also but i'm getting a CRD, don't want the V8. The CRD has more torque than the V8 too, so i don't get why it is not available with the CRD and ORAII

Milous also mentioned it a few months ago when i asked but i hoped his reply was due to US versions only having the V8 available at time of reply. I really hope we get it with the CRD and ORAII though

In the Aus buyers guide there is a 'P' in the Laredo column and the Laredo doesn't have the option of the V8 Hemi, so it must be part of the ORAll and available for the CRD. But really who knows. Time will tell.

Thanks for that Snuke. I thought I saved that brochure from you last time, but it wasn't there when I looked. There is so much information on this thread that I would like to find but with nearly 400 pages...

All my focus has been on the Laredo so, we set out to test drive one and bought an Overland! We will be using it to tow our New Age caravan around Australia for 6 months next year; starting to get excited now!

We'll need to get 18" wheels and off road tyres for the trip (didn't want to order a car. Expected delivery is end of July). Hopefully when the time comes I can rely on information here to get what we need (I am keeping my eye on the tyre pressure monitor issue)

Sorry to say Webber, Shannon didn't do us any favours. On the way home we dropped in to Caroline Springs. Adam gave us a drive away price straight up that ran rings around Shannon. We negotiated some extras and signed up (argh! Forgot the mud flaps though!! After all my reading. What cars, especially 4wd come without mudflaps?). Maybe if Adam picks up some prospective customers because of my post he might throw them in?

My husband has always been a toyota man and I loved my 98 Prado, however, when it comes to towing, the Jeep is a no brainer. The Prado interior was such a disappointment, and to the member who was considering the Altitude...lots for sale on carsales...

My only concern is supply of parts if anything happens. I guess if we have a problem I can hassle Jeep via this forum ( I know you are reading this Jeep Aus! Rest assured, if we are happy we will also use this, and other forums).

A huge thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum: it is informative and entertaining! Without it, I would not have bought a Jeep because the only other source of information is Jeep Australia. I can't fathom their facebook page and I signed up for updates via their website but haven't heard a peep. They are a worry, aren't they?

No selec-speed on our MY14 Overland CRD I'm afraid. Not really an issue for us though but still I agree it does seem odd given the extra torque in the diesel.

We gave the ACC (Auto Cruise Control) and BSM (Blind Spot Monitoring) a good go the other evening when we drove into the city via busy freeways. We thought it would be a bit of a gimmick but in reality it's brilliant and is well worth having. So if you're trying to decide on Limited or Overland these extras are definitely worth a few extra dollars.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

For anyone trying out the Select-Speed, it will only work in low range and NOT on level ground.

I tried the hill decent control on my '11 and it would only work in low range, so I expect the '14's will be the same.
I also do not see them having it as an option with the OR pack, as it is part of the ECU and a feature of the car that does not require bash plates or 18" wheels.

This is taken from Allpar site:"Thanks to the new transmission, Grand Cherokee boasts an improved crawl ratio of 44.1:1 (up from 30:1) for 2014. A new feature, Selec-Speed Control, has been added; it includes both Hill Descent Control and the new Hill Ascent Control, allowing the Grand Cherokee to both climb and descend from steep grades with minimal driver input."
From what I read it is STANDARD

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Couple of quick questions - probably been answered but seriously....aint going to try and read the 400 pages to find out.....
1/ Have ordered a Laredo crd and am wondering if it has high/low range transfer case? Never really looked into this and I don't remember seeing a low range button/switch/lever anywhere inside.
2/ has anyone fitted a hayman reese HD towbar to these yet and are they same as the MY13?
3/ how fricking good are these pieces of kit...!!!!!!!!! (More a statement that a question)

oh...and what is ORAII???

Anyway looking forward to hearing a response.
Cheers.
