Sulpha was used in the past As a lubricant
But for new modern diesels sulpha is no good and the motors have been designed for low sulpha
So don't add anything to it

Anyway looking forward to hearing a response.

Aussiecree, are you serious m8??

So youve paid out $60k+ for a vehicle you know nothing about!!
For a start, theres a person called a salesman that you purchased the vehicle off (not that guarantees any worthwhile fountain of knowledge)
Then theres Mr Googleman for any additional information.
Then theres Hayman Reece themselves for the towbar info.
Then theres this site itself, just put in a search, dont have to read through 400 pages.
Then there Milous, the Main Man on this forum in the USA.
Then theres the other main thread on this forum (this is just an offshoot of this one set up by Milous) 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Then theres the 2014 Grand Cherokee Specification Guide freely available at all Jeep dealers including yours.

So Aussiecree, all I'm saying is look around and you will find the answers to your own questions instead of everyone haqving to do the work for you.!!!!!

Oh yes, diesel goes in the fuel tank, not petrol!

Hymer I started typing something similar myself, nice work.
As most here know, I am all for helping people, but you have got to help yourself first.

Well that settles it. Hence the reason I'm waiting. I ain't got over $60k to spend on a lucky dip.

In the mean time I'll nickname the 2014 Grand Cherokee as 'Choco Box'. As the great philosopher Forest Gump said "...like a box of chocolates, cause you never know what your gonna get."

Seriously?????
you need to be a smartass??????
all you needed to say was "mate go look around and if you cant find anything come back" and then I would have said "I have looked around....I have looked through some of the pages on here...... I have contacted my local Hayman Reese supplier but as they haven't seen one yet they cant answer my question... I have asked my incompetent dealer who didn't have a clue.... and so on"
Thanks for at least supplying an answer to one part of my questions. I do appreciate that.
As for my research on the vehicle I would consider it quite extensive.....doesn't mean I know everything.....unlike some on here apparently!!!!!!
Some people speak on a computer differently to how they would/could in real life obviously......cause I can tell you damn straight you wouldn't talk to me in real life like you have here in a hurry..... completely unnecessary!!!!!!!!!

That would contradict exactly what you did say

If you had said you had searched around and couldn’t find the info rather than what was interpreted as “I can’t be bothered looking through the information already provided” then you would have had a very different response.
It was only a page or two back that your question about low transfer case was discussed, which made both us feel you hadn’t read anything at all.

As for the Hayman Reese, well that also got discussed very recently where I said I was quoted $999 to have it fitted.
On the US MOPAR site, they list their hitch receiver as working for MY11-MY14.

This would have been your first result for searching for "Hayman" in this thread.

So you have both questions discussed in detail in the last two days.
That is why I was also peeved about your approach.
None of us on here know everything, but most have the good sense to let us know what bases they have already covered when they ask a question so we aren't all going over the same thing time and time again.

If you had dropped in on a verbal conversation in person after walking past the vast amount of searchable info and asked the question in the same manner, you bet I would I would say similar things that Hymer typed to your face.
And I would hope you would understand what you had just done.

There is nothing insulting there, sure he was being a smartass, but justifiable so.
Regulars in this forum know the Hymer is very helpful.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Aussiecree.
Not many people come onto this forum and attempt to alienate themselves in less than 10 posts.
You appear to fit into that category, and with that approach, you might find it hard to get other forum members to respond with the information you request.
If I were you, I would try again with a different approach, and I would also recommend you stop the innuendo of suggesting you might retaliate if face to face.
You might have just got off on the wrong foot?

I tried the hill decent control on my '11 and it would only work in low range, so I expect the '14's will be the same.
Just tried hill descent in our '14. Works as expected but Enforcer (hopefully you can answer this) is the grinding sound normal?

My husband suspects that is the brake sound that we are hearing but I said to him I would ask you if you have the same sound on your '11 when doing hill descent.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Aussiecreed,
Sorry for being a smartass, I recognise that. Yep, probably would have said that face to face with a grin. My motto is "God helps those that helps themselves" (Hope there is a God, I need all the help I can get)

Im a lot peeved too with the MY14 situation and have been following this site since January.
Frustration has set in for me a long time ago with the lack of information from Chrysler/Fiat/Jeep/Dodge/Ram/Alfa Romeo Aust (or whatever theyre called this week).

I ordered mine in Mid November last year and have been notified I may get it August 17. Wont hold my breath.

I had to do some serious aggravation time towards the Jeep Aust Management before I got some action from them and my dealer. (Face to face and up close and personal).

It pays to go straight to the source and not deal with the underlings.
In the hayman Reece case, you were told by the dealer; "Dunno mate"

I looked at the HR website and talked to the HR info centre and was told categorically "Yep, no worries, will fit the MY14 OK"

Talk to them personally.
"Call our Customer Care Centre - 1800 812 017"

HR website; http://www.haymanreese.com.au/mmysearch.asp?Change=Year

See how you go.

Bluey

In dealing with my insurance this arvo I've learnt the insurance companies are frustrated they haven't been told cars are being released prior to the date they were informed of and still haven't had models or specs presented.

Make sure when you insure your MY14 prior to them having it on file, you actually call the call centre so it can be approved to be insured under a MY13 by an underwriter until they have the details and amend the policy.
