My husband suspects that is the brake sound that we are hearing but I said to him I would ask you if you have the same sound on your '11 when doing hill descent.
You will also hear this type of noise but to a lesser extent when using the ACC.
The noise is just the ABS pumping it self up.

Have you tried the Ascent yet ?

P.S The ACC rocks

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks for that info Enforcer. Husband wasn't worried at all - it was just me. A very unnerving sound nevertheless.

As far as ascent go - we do not have that option if you are talking about SSC.

fourbfarmer - what is it and when do you pick it up? Are you getting excited (or is the Pope Catholic)?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

The problem with this thread is there is a lot of info, but it is spread across so many pages. The lack of official info from JeepAU is not helping much. We are all willing to help, but cannot help people who do not make much of an effort to even read the last 10 pages.
AC would have easily been able to find that info out in 5 mins searching here or Google would have delivered it in 5 seconds.

That is absolute bollocks Bretto.

I've been a member of this forum for a very short time and coupled with that I'm a female. Reading other Jeep forums it was very clear that the Jeep brand was, overall, a male domain. So, it was with some hesitancy that I joined and it was only because we were experiencing the same long wait for our vehicle as other members that I felt comfortable doing so. (encouraged by my husband also).

I don't know a lot about cars - I make no secret of that and I suppose at times I come across fairly clueless, which of course I am. I don't know anything about the engines or any of that stuff that men (including my husband) seem to inhale at time of birth.

But in saying all of that, I have only ever found helpfulness and courtesy on this site.

I don't understand how you could think otherwise.

If you really want some sites to complain about with regards to bitchiness and smartarse comments let me introduce you to my 'parenting/mothers' sites.

That'll knock your socks off I'll give you the drum.

On the whole everyone is nice. There is a side to a few people which I think take a self appointed hierarchy in responding to people in a less than civil manner.

Sometimes people are asking questions on the fly which shouldn't be a problem, so long as they give a quick g'day. Not everyone has time to read 400 pages of stuff that has been covered. And frankly not everyone can use this site well. Young and old have trouble, I know at 29 I can barely use it on my I phone, I don't even touch the computer site. So whatever people's reasonings for asking whatever question it shouldn't matter and if you don't want to help and answer then don't. If you do, great.

Anyway .. No resent or ill will to anyone but people need to chill. Bag me if you will for my opinion, but I call spades, spades

Make sure when you insure your MY14 prior to them having it on file, you actually call the call centre so it can be approved to be insured under a MY13 by an underwriter until they have the details and amend the policy.
I've had the same issue. One prominent insurance company refused to even discuss providing me insurance because the MY14 wasn't on their system. However from further research I found that many other insurance companies have said they will insure based on MY13 but that I needed to check with them that their database was updated and amended on my file.

I can't wait for tomorrow when I finally pick up my Bright White MY14 Overland.
