So whatever people's reasonings for asking whatever question it shouldn't matter and if you don't want to help and answer then don't. If you do, great.

Anyway .. No resent or ill will to anyone but people need to chill. Bag me if you will for my opinion, but I call spades, spades
Good call Bretto. I too have felt that there is a hierarchy at play on this site. No need for it...

Popped in to Suttons Jeep at Resebery to see what the MY14 looks like in the flesh. It certainly is a pretty thing. I quite like it but not enough for me to dump my 9 month old baby.

Looking forward to your pics. I know you've waiting for a while now

Re: Insurance. AAMI will insure it as the MY13 and mark it notes-wise as being an MY14. I touched base with them on Friday to see if their system reflected the new the model but not yet. It doesn't matter - they are aware it is the MY14 and I will phone this Friday to see if their system is updated and amend the policy.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

some more feedback on my Overland ORAII 18" wheels.

Having bought a bright white Overland CRD with ORAII (delivery expected late July), I have now purchased 8x Yokohama Geolanders ATS G012 tyres and 4x MY14 Laredo rims. The rims are from MY14 Laredo owners upgrading their wheels.

8x Geolanders = 4 wheels, 1 spare, 2 camper trailer wheels, 1 camper trailer spare.
4x MY14 Laredo rims= 1 spare, 2 camper trailer wheels, 1 camper trailer spare.

Geolanders $325 each ($150 cash back on the Kumhos if I drive straight to tyre store after delivery, so 4 tyres at $175); MY14 Laredo rims $125 each.

I won't have the pressure reading transponders as these are taken to the new wheels / tyres of the owner upgrading. Once it is time to rotate the wheels I could transfer the one's I have, buy from ebay (if available) or forget about pressure readout.

I am not recommending the Geolanders in particular but I am willing to give them a go.

Not everyone will be looking to do the above, but if you are, I hope this information is useful. After I have my jeep home I will post an update with my first impressions of the tyres.

Cheers,

Sparky

9 months would be a bit soon for me too! Fortunately my Amarok was a Lemon and I could justify ditching it at 12 months to make way for this bad boy hahah

Picking up tomorrow as well Zamo! Very exciting times

Hey everyone, a couple of weeks ago there was a discussion on the dual zone climate control and how it is incorrectly synchronising the passenger and driver side. What came of that? Anyone have any information? Mine seems to have the same issue.

Also, anyone worked out how to enable and disable the self dimming mirrors?

Hi Sparky

Today I did some research with the Bridgestone D697. I was offered $285 per tyre with trade option. RRP is $389 with RACQ discount. Same as you, I have to go straight to the tyre company when I pick up the vehicle.

Yeah, the first tyre shop I called had a more expensive tyre cost and no trade... so worth calling around to get a trade. I think the duelers LT would be my choice but my Jeep is also my wife's ride and when offroad I will be mainly on sand (nsw or qld coast).

Thanks for at least supplying an answer to one part of my questions. I do appreciate that.
As for my research on the vehicle I would consider it quite extensive.....doesn't mean I know everything.....unlike some on here apparently!!!!!!
Some people speak on a computer differently to how they would/could in real life obviously......cause I can tell you damn straight you wouldn't talk to me in real life like you have here in a hurry..... completely unnecessary!!!!!!!!!
Hey,
I agree with you whole heartedly. There are obviously a few members who have been around the block more than once and some who are new to this game like myself who at times find the plethora of information quite confusing and it would be much better to assist with guidance and information than being a complete arsehole and a smartarse

Trajcem - re: the climate control dual zone issue. Ours was fine for a week or so and then it went a bit haywire. Mentioned it to the service department of our dealership and we are now tracking it and will report back to them.

Try this to correct it.

Press Synch Off
Take drivers side all the way to HI
Take passengers side all the way to HI
Let blow for 10-20 secs.
Take drivers side all the way to LO
Take passengers side all the way to LO
Let blow for 10-20 secs
Take drivers side to normal temp that you want (ie: for us 19 degrees)
Take passengers side to same temp
Press Synch On

See how you go.

It corrected it for us, but the service department wants to know if it goes out again so we are keeping an eye on it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

One of the problems new members are facing is that this particular thread is being used for all and sundry questions.
It was originally setup to discuss the release of the MY14 Grand Cherokee, but then became more concentrated on the delivery of those first cars. It then jumped to technical issues and tyres.
If you really want to concentrate on a particular topic, you might be better off by starting a new thread with your question as the Topic.
For example, the issue raised above concerning the sync of duel climate controls would be a great topic. If it were setup by itself, readers would be better informed, and not be left shattered when being told that it was already discussed 300 pages ago. When remedies or fixes are found, it would not be a challenge to find them.
From what I have so far read, there appears to be 2 issues looming with the MY14. These are, the climate control, and the condensation in the headlamp housings.
Both may be simple a learning curve, but at this stage, they need to be monitored.
