All my focus has been on the Laredo so, we set out to test drive one and bought an Overland! We will be using it to tow our New Age caravan around Australia for 6 months next year; starting to get excited now!

We'll need to get 18" wheels and off road tyres for the trip (didn't want to order a car. Expected delivery is end of July). Hopefully when the time comes I can rely on information here to get what we need (I am keeping my eye on the tyre pressure monitor issue)

Sorry to say Webber, Shannon didn't do us any favours. On the way home we dropped in to Caroline Springs. Adam gave us a drive away price straight up that ran rings around Shannon. We negotiated some extras and signed up (argh! Forgot the mud flaps though!! After all my reading. What cars, especially 4wd come without mudflaps?). Maybe if Adam picks up some prospective customers because of my post he might throw them in?

My husband has always been a toyota man and I loved my 98 Prado, however, when it comes to towing, the Jeep is a no brainer. The Prado interior was such a disappointment, and to the member who was considering the Altitude...lots for sale on carsales...

My only concern is supply of parts if anything happens. I guess if we have a problem I can hassle Jeep via this forum ( I know you are reading this Jeep Aus! Rest assured, if we are happy we will also use this, and other forums).

A huge thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum: it is informative and entertaining! Without it, I would not have bought a Jeep because the only other source of information is Jeep Australia. I can't fathom their facebook page and I signed up for updates via their website but haven't heard a peep. They are a worry, aren't they?

Alls fixed. I stormed into Werribee Jeep today. Straight into Shannons office. Slapped him around a bit and got him to apologise profusely for any customers he abused that I had recommended to him. With him before me on his knees pleading for forgiveness I relented and gave him one more chance. Whilst I got an Overland at an embarrassingly good price and others have also been pleased you still have to do your homework. Seriously though, I did, with respect, inform him that this site is powerful and people talk like you have, and that's what this site is all about. Shannon's excuse is that his stock was now low and he had sold too many cars too cheaply(like mine). He had to claw back some profits to make up for the loss on mine (and a few others). I would still recommend him and I would still suggest you want WEBBERS price because that signals to him that he just has to be sharper on his pricing than he would otherwise need to be. He is aware that he has lost some business now so I am hopeful he will return to his generous best.....but as I said, you still have to do your homework, which you did, so good for you. Having said all of the above I would still recommend him. One can only make a judgement on how they were treated.
NOW, THE OTHER REASON I CALLED IN ON WERRIBEE JEEP. Thinking I was a dinosaur not being able to use voice activation for phone, radio and temperature control, I rang ahead of calling in and then drove down to get the 22 year old salesman (I did not want to take up Shannons time for this but I did really talk to him about looking after customers coming in as a result of jeepgarage)to run through the Uconnect procedures again for this dumbo. Anyway, I was pleased he could not do it. I was not the dumbo I thought I was. He called in the service manager who failed to get the voice control to work also. Shortly after my poor girl was hooked up to life support but they cannot work out why the Uconnect is not performing the way it should. Now I have to take her back for day surgery next Tuesday so hopefully she will come through with flying colours. Whilst in the ward they are hoping to fit the tow bar and the Mopar Ambient Lighting accessory. If it is any good I will take some pics and post them here. Apart from the Uconnect hiccups though this is one hell of a car. Anyone still waiting out there is going to be so pleased to finally take possession of their long awaited cars.

Today I did some research with the Bridgestone D697. I have to go straight to the tyre company when I pick up the vehicle.[/QUOTE]

Hi all
I have 22" kuhmo tyres on my twin turbo x5 and they are brilliant , don't be put off by the name , they handle and they are quite while offering a soft ride . ( not run flats)
If you have run flats I would suggest to get rid of them they are too firm a ride and way too expensive for what u get .
I would run the khumo to limit then choose something else . I would be surprised if you change
give them a chance is all I am saying

Good to hear some positive comments on them, what model Kuhmo is it that you have?

The feedback from SJandL was very useful. If anyone has the dual zone climate issue look up the user name and get some simple instructions on how to fix it.

Second question I have relates to self dimming mirrors... How do you turn them on and off. I looked for the feature/button everywhere and can't find it. Any ideas? I could swear it feels like my head unit is missing some feature options.

Thanks Webber! I cant work out how to open pm. Have done it by accident each time! We went for the black interior, hides the dirt well! Should get the car by the end of July. I think you will find info on problems with the uconnect on US forums, maybe I remember reading that there was a fix for it?

Well said. When I started viewing this forum it was daunting even though it was just approaching 200 pages at the time. It took a while to go through them but I am glad that I did.

Apart from the search functions, the other thing I would remind you of is don;t just limit yourself to the export section. Some things are country specific like availability of tyres or towbars but the US have had this model out for months now and there is a wealth of information all over the site the is relevant for Aussies too.

Like the new towbar thread, it is already looking good.

There is an on/off button on the rearview mirror to control the mirrors. The rearview and wing mirrors are all controlled by this one button.

I looked everywhere. I will have a look again. The dealer said it is always on and can't be disabled. Strange....
