Just ordered some off Amazon, $US136.87 + $US31.36 shipping. There is a chance they may come back and say they won't ship it for that price. I will let you all know in a day or two if it ships. Approx. $A185 delivered

Wasn't that Webbers delay too?
I picked up my MY 14 white CRD today from Northstar at Kipper ring.
The tow bar and Anderson plug have been fitted and there was no issue with the wiring loom. I did ask and they did not know of any issue.
I have dealt with Chris Sleeman for the last 7 months since ordering.
He has been in contact with me the whole time. I was never left in the dark.
He has been with this dealer for 6 years and therefore is a good solid contact. I also might add that the price was much better than elsewhere and was not increased for the model change.

AS a final note., the car is absolutely fantastic except that the voice recognition is not working. This is obviously a common problem.
If anyone has knowledge on this please advise.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

A call to arms guys. After all the months & months of waiting, comments (yes, some bitching was noticed too), angst, wondering (is this car real?), dreaming, and finally for some, reality setting in with cars to see, touch & even drive, WE STILL HAVE NOT MADE IT TO 400 PAGES.
Only one night to go! Can we make up 10 pages in one night?

Ummm... this is interesting. Your's and Webber's are not - ours is.

What is your Uconnect version? Shall we compare.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi All, Got my E number for my Overland CRD today!!! Just waiting to get some info on it, should come when Milous does his next update.

Anyhow, I'm going to need to fit my P3 brake controller. It appears, that at least for the 2011 model, there is a small patch cable that can be used to plug into an existing connector. Anyway, I'd like to know if the same connector still exists on the 2014. If any of you guys with cars would be able to verify if the connector still exists, that would be fantastic.

Below is a link to the part number for the patch cable. It has instructions including pictures on how to find the connector.

Brake Controllers - Tekonsha

I recall earlier in the thread it mentioned that the harness that comes are part of the tow pack has the 7-pin flat trailer connector and plugs in somewhere in the boot and that usually you have to run wires from that connector in the boot, to the front of the vehicle. *shrug* hopefully that is not the case and I can just plug in this patch cable.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Re: the Voice Recognition. We have just sat in her and tested it again.

Firstly - Version is 13.15.4. Other threads on this site tell me that the US guys have later versions but that is what we have now in our vehicle.

To activate it (I know, basic stuff but even so... )

Press VR on the wheel and release - it will BEEP. Say command. An orange message down the bottom of the touch screen will display 'Processing'

Example commands that we gave it include:

- Set temperature to 22 degrees. WORKED

- Tune Radio to 95.3. WORKED

- Set media source to CD. WORKED

- Navigate to (the address we gave it). DID NOT WORK and issued message back to us saying 'I'm sorry - Speech destination entry is not possible with the selected country'

We knew though that the Nav side of things didn't work from our previous testing.

You can just say HELP to it and the lovely lady rambles on and gives all sorts of examples for you to try.

I'm not sure why ours is working but Webber's and Stuch's is not. It seems odd. Granted, it's not responding to all the commands that one would expect it to, especially with regards to Nav but clearly the VR is alive and well with ours.

Stuch, can you confirm your trailer pin configuration. I'm hoping we get the flat 7 pin plug. I assume you had the Redarc fitted as well. I'm wanting the Tekonsha P3, but they didn't know what that was. Their quote for the whole package was a bit expensive I thought. I think I'll get mine after delivery.

Where do you plan to fit your P3?

If you have shipping problems, then use a USA address, you can obtain one from Comgateway.com. It's free and works like a charm, last time I purchased from Amazon the freight was free to this address which is in Portland Oregon.
They than re ship to you for a nominal charge, go the Web Page and take a look. Overcomes all those problems where some product in the USA is local shipping only.
Cheers.

Everything extra you order over $57,600 vehicle price is subject to Luxury Car Tax, should have had my tow bar kit fitted later. This Tax is such a rip off...
