I took it the weekend dealers took stock, so they had everything on display before they were prepped.

Guys the Grand Cherokee is a Bloody 4 x4 and there fore needs to have fitted in the factory suitable, recovery points on the front
Why are these fitted as standard in USA but here in Ozz we are treated like second class people of the world.
It tells me that the staff at Chrysler Jeep Australia have no idea and they do not use their product for what is designed for, or is as i suspect a grab for more costs after you have made your purchase
Love the car,
Not so found of CJA
Ok so with fear of being chastised I have just been and seen my car (Pick it up tomorrow) and asked about the front tow hook. The dealer removed a cover off the front (beside the cooling vent) and there before my eyes I see the screw hole for the tow hook. I have pics if anyone wants to see them.
Now I am only trying to help so please don't chew my head off if someone has already put pictures on here (I am only trying to be helpful).
Let me know if you want to see the pics?

I can confirm that the first 2000 vehicles delivered (Laredo) will not have the camera fitted from factory but are to be dealer installed however, After those first 2000 vehicles they are supposed to be factory fitted standard.
Apparently Jeep Australia hadn't decided when they started manufacturing the first batch for Australia so they left them off. I find this hard to believe that they would order cars without final signoff on specs and trim levels but.....there you go.....apparently they hadn't.
Just what I have heard ...... hope this helps.

You need to be very careful here.
Firstly, don't get confused with the "Front Tow Hook" and the "Front Recovery Hook". They are two totally different items.
The "screw hole" is for the Tow Loop, which you will find in the spare wheel area. It can ONLY be used for towing very short distances, on reasonably flat ground.
The Recovery Hook cannot be used in this connector. It must be bolted to the Chassis, and be much stronger. It used to be supplied on MY11's, and were supplied as standard on the MY12, MY13 Trailhawkes, but the chassis was changed, and they were no longer supplied on the standard GC's. You can order a bracket and recovery hook from the dealer, at least for the MY12's and MY13's. I presume the same will be for the MY14's.

Hi Penut
I'm in Karratha, ordered my CRD Overland 2nd April and it's still 2 months away. Will you be coming through over the weekend or mid week?

Got me confused allypally. The Yanks refer to the recovery hook as a tow hook. The part number even matches to what Alex gave us. Alex called it a recovery hook. Yanks call it a tow hook.
