Throw the pics up, all info and perspectives can always be helpful.

Have only just got 1000km on the jeep in 3 weeks so at this rate will take forever till its due for first checkup..

I'll ask about the voice Nav as I would love to get that feature working.. It says it should in the post sale literature so I think someone at Jeep AUS should find out how to.. Or change the VR sheet not to mention it.

Apart from that still Loving This Jeep.. In fact my poor JK has not been used apart from work since the new arrival.
I have the same problem on the parking lights. Mine is going in tomorrow, see what they say. BYW, you don't have to wait for a service to get items checked under warranty.

Got me confused allypally. The Yanks refer to the recovery hook as a tow hook. The part number even matches to what Alex gave us. Alex called it a recovery hook. Yanks call it a tow hook.
Yes, it is confusing. What makes it worse is that most dealers have no idea what they are talking about. A few of us here were involved in getting the recovery hook sorted for the MY12 after Jeep Au stuffed things up. It has a long and horrible history. Ally has given some good links if you want the whole story, but I thought I'd wade in with some information too, hopefully it will help.

The tow hook that comes with GC, located in the spare wheel well, screws into the a threaded receiver behind the removable small panel in the lower front air dam. This tow hook is suitable ONLY for short towing distances on flat ground, say after a break down, just to get the car out of harms way.

Recovery Hooks are rated for recovery of cars in serious bogged situations, in sand or mud, utilising a recovery snatch strap. They should come in a pair fitted to either side of the car. They do not screw into the tow hook threaded receiver but have a special mounting bracket.

The part number that Alexcjd has given does indeed refer to a Mopar recovery hook. However I am yet to see anyone actually fitting these to a MY14 here in Australia. Nor has Alexcjd given a price or advised availablity through Jeep AU.

If you knew the drama myself and others went through getting the MY12 sorted out, you would understand my skepticism. Until I see the recovery hooks actually fitted to an MY14 - well, I'll believe it when I see it. Recovery hooks in my view are esential if you intend to use your car off road. Why Jeep Au does not understand this is beyond me.

If you are reading this Alexcjd, maybe this is something you could do - order some of the recovery hooks yourself, fit 'em up and post some photos. This is a deal breaker for me in respect of upgrading to a MY14.

Alexcjd was good enough to reply to my PM on the subject - so I acknowledge his efforts. As usual Jeep Au is missing in action....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Oh, and the 4th of July is nearly over and I have not seen any wonderful release of the MY14.

The Jeep Au web site still only has the MY13, yet it has pctures of the MY14 Cherokee.

Maybe Veronica Johns was out getting her hair done when they had the meeting...

Have to wait until the 6th July.

I have a copy of the National Bulletin that went out to all Dealers regarding the 2014 MY Grand Cherokee. The letter is signed by the Senior Manager Product Strategy. It has a note at the bottom of the letter in big red print, and it says:-

Quote " NOTE - THERE IS A STRICT EMBARGO ON ADVERTISING 14MY WK ACROSS ALL MARKETING COMMUNICATION CHANNELS UNTIL SATURDAY 6TH JULY. " End of Quote.

So there it is, this is why it has been so hard to obtain information from the Jeep Dealerships.

By the way, for members inquiring about the Rear Camera for the Laredo, there is another note:- Quote " The ParkView rear back-up camera will be a dealer fitted item. A Dealer Bulletin containing full details on fitment program, including timings, will be released on Monday 17th June." End of Quote.

Hope this is of help.

A general enquiry please, can anyone recommend a good Window Tint for my up and coming GC Limited. A dealer has quoted me $590 for their premium quality tint with a lifetime guarantee. I am also not sure if you need to tint the side rear passenger glass as it already has some type of dark tint.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Love the title. Snr Product Mgr.
Must have retrieved that title from a packet of Fruit Loops.
Sorry, I just cannot Take Jeep Australia seriously. How many companies forget to launch a new car? And if they do, miss that launch themselves.

Got my tint done at solartint - very happy with it. I got it for around $270. i dropped in on the last day of the month to enquire, they had time on the day and gave a 50% discount just to get the end of month dollars.

The dealer will just be using the el cheapo mobile bloke and taking a markup.
