Sorry, I just cannot Take Jeep Australia seriously. How many companies forget to launch a new car? And if they do, miss that launch themselves.
Frankly I think the time in between the unofficial release and the official one is great. Given us all time to commit to a purchase/dealer and get a car scheduled before the hoards set in.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

My recommendation is NOT TO DO ANY ENHANCEMENTS until you have enjoyed at least a few days of ownership. Get to know the car first, then decide what you want to do. For example, I was intending to tint the front windows. However, after a few days decided that the car didn't need it. Personal thing.
If you need to "add things", consider mud mats for driver and front passenger, and a boot liner. These will help preserve your carpets.

G'day GMWK2,

At worst I will have attempted recovery hook fitting to an Overland by mid August. I picked up the chrome hooks while I was in the States but didn't realise that I had to also buy the black hooks to get the brackets. Hopefully be picking these up at the start of August which is about the same time I will have my GC by.

Cheers.

Hey..

Got the new car tinted - two front windows for $100 on the coast with 3M tint.. The rear glass does cut UV so no need for the clear stuff.. They always try and up-sell for the whole car.. We have dogs through the back so the less tint on windows the better!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I am not surprised that there are issues with parking lights, voice control, and Aircon balancing.
Considering they have to do a bit of computer mods to turn off features which are not part of the Aussie export, and these are probably not tested as much as when the functionality was there, there are bound to be bugs requiring tweaking.

Your dealer is either a moron or very knowledgable.
All glass blocks the UV light associated with sunburn - UVB.
UVA however is a different story. This is what is used in tanning beds, and also responsible for fabrics/leather fading.
I would have thought the tint would block UVA too.
Ask him to clarify as all glass blocks UV and see what the reply is.

There is some validity in that allypally. I too am having second thoughts about tinting the front side windows. l may well leave them the way they are. Besides, with clear glass others can see who the cool dude is behind the wheel of the Bright White Overland......afterthought!...can you be a "cool dude" in your mid 60's?

Interesting, someone wasn't listening properly:
"For hard-core off-roaders, there’s also a Trailhawk option pack including extra underbody guards, front/rear tow hooks and Goodyear dual-purpose tyres."

These journalist suck, they all missed the new Shorter headlamps.
Best bloody feature and only one genius "journo" in the US talked about them.
