Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Another mistake on the Jeep.com.au site.

If you have a look at the Model Spec's link it tells you that for the Overland you get Quadra-Trac II. But in reality you get Quadra-Drive II.

Does no one proof read this stuff??

Thanks for the info, hadn't thought of that contact, I will follow it up.

Maybe I'm wrong, but are the prices the same as the MY13?

Some feedback from today's service visit. Two issues in discussion on my MY14 Ltd CRD

1. Dual zone-climate not synchronising
2. Parking lights only don't turn on when engine is running, only when engine is not running.

Response: we don't know. The car is new so we need tech support from head office. I will wait a couple of weeks and see if anything has progressed.

On 2, under what circumstances would you need parking lights while the engine is running for a car with daytime running lights?

Seems to be exactly how I'd design it.

I can't wait for tomorrow when I finally pick up my Bright White MY14 Overland.
We went to AAMI - didn't take any time at all to get insurance sorted. Good price as well.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I looked at AAMI because of their Lifetime replacement program, jeezuz it was expensive.
We are having to renew our Pajeros insurance right now so doing the comparions.
Looked at Woolworths (nder-written by Hollard), so cheap it's scary.
I called and asked them several questions because I don't understand how a non scamming company, both Woolworths and Hollards, can offer such a low price.

Same story, no MY14 listed of course, so based it of MY13.

We have never had to make a claim (using Budget Direct now) so have no idea what bizarre loopholes may exist, but Woolworths are not one to take kindly to public humiliation so can't see anything scary being in there.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

SERVICING????
Have read first service due at 1000k, 1500k, 5000k and 10000k.
Shannon of Werribee Jeep said they had gone over everything and no need to bring it back until the first service was due at 10,000km. As it turns out it is going back for a check of the Uconnect system, fitting of the "ambient Lighting" and hopefully the tow bar on Tuesday. Anyway, the service book says all servicing at 10,000k intervals or 6 months, whichever comes first. I raise this because forum members are posting that their vehicle is required back at 1000 and 1500km etc. Must be an "inhouse" rule????

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

....also, just glancing at the "Warranty Handbook-January 1st 2013" which came with the car. On page 3 it states E. When it Ends....The Basic Warrant lasts for 36 months from the date it begins or for 100,000Km on the odometer, which occurs first. But the following items are covered only for 12 months or for 20,000Km on the odometer, whichever occurs first. It goes on to list the items only covered for 12 months. I don't have much quarrel with the majority, ie Brake discs, pads etc, all filters, all fuses etc. However, I don't think it fair to include "Paint Finish" and "Interior soft trim" - seat cushions and covers, headrests, sun visors, carpets, hood lining, door trim inserts in that listing.
You would think Chrysler could place more faith in their paintwork and interior finish to offer a greater warranty....but then again, maybe this is standard for all cars?????

Just looked at the manual I downloaded. It shows servicing starting at 10,000miles or 16,000kms.
