Yeah that sounds right.
My Limited is getting the wheels of a Laredo, so I will get the Michelins.

Some of the MY12 cars (including the SRT8) used to be built in Austraia. I recall reading that the factory in Austria was associated with 'Mercedes / Daimler / Benz' group or whatever it was called and that the relocation of building RHD Grand Cherokees to JNAP (Detroit) was related to the split from Daimler etc.

I think carsales have just assumed that the 'facelift' MY14 cars were built in the same place and didn't bother to update all of the information. Also I see it as conceivable that Ms Tanner or whomever the press information person is, might not have given out quite as much information as they could have.

The Official "I want to remove my '14 CD Player" thread

Alex at Sutton told me yesterday he has a new buyer that is having an auto electrician coming in on Monday to see if they can figure out if it can be cleanly removed from the car they about to take delivery of.

I hate that we can't even order it without.
I will barely be driving it, but it drives me nuts.
Thanks Snuke, will stay tuned in for feedback.

Hi Hymer, are you sure there is no CD player in your Laredo, I thought it was included in the current model?

The Laredo does not come with it. It is an optional upgrade.

Argh! Put a hole in the rear tyre of the xtrail. Went to book the car in straight away because the tyre provided has a maximum 80k speed limit... A new tyre can be sourced and provided by 20 th July! 3 weeks! And I got the same information from 4 different tyre companies!

Hi Snuke,

So you are getting the Laredo wheels without the ORAII pack, did the dealer charge you for doing this swap?

Will speedo reading and tyre pressure monitoring work the same as per the standard limited wheel/tyre configuration.

What was your main factors influencing this decision? off-roading, styling, better availability & choice of 18" tyres, dislike of Kumho's ...

Thanks, and thanks to everyone on this forum it has been most helpful.

We visited my dealer yesterday for a sticky at the 2014......he had 3 CRD Laredos for stock just off the truck - so they couldn't be test driven - however - all had CD players.
When I asked why, the salesman advised it was a dealership decision to order stock with the CD - otherwise you can special order.
It will be interesting to see whether they are forced to change their mind by demand.
The CD player and consequent loss of the bin and tray, plus the black, black, black trim and headlining were things we didn't like about the new model.
We definitely didn't like the loss of the tailgate central locking button that you could touch as you were at the back of the vehicle to lock or unlock.
When I commented to the salesman we regularly used this at the shopping centre when returning with groceries to the rear door, he said - "well you just use the remote or walk to the drivers door and touch the handle". New owners won't miss it but present WK2 owners certainly will.
I'm not so far convinced to rush to upgrade - but the 8 speed and 184KW/570nm might be OK.

Button is still there, next to liftgate handle, see pages 38-39 owner's manual for description of operation.
