Thanks for that......we looked but couldn't see one - salesman told us there wasn't one.......
The one on the previous model was up on the chrome trim - same button as on the front door handles.
I'll creep up on the next 2014 I come across and check it out.

Thanks, and thanks to everyone on this forum it has been most helpful.
No I wasn’t charged for downgrading the wheels.
The choice was purely aesthetics.
I find the 20s on the Limited to be boring, and the misses actually dislikes them.
We both think the 18s look much better.
Speedo, not sure if the dealer can do anything with this, but it should be the same as if ORAII is fitted, although that is a factory thing.
Either way, I am yet to have a car that is accurate, a drive with GPS speed check quickly lets you know how inaccurate your car is.

Tyre pressure system, I have been told this wont be an issue.
I created this thread to ask a few questions -
Wheels: 20' vs 18"

Pretty sure the Laredo with ORAII we test drove last Saturday had the Michelins so is it only the Limiteds/Overlands that get the wheels changed from 20" to 18" that get the Kuhmos.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Can anyone confirm that the full TPMS is standard across all models now and that the Laredo doesn't just get a warning like then MY13 model. Also, can the pressure that the warning goes off at be set manually or is it fixed.

With all the incorrect information provided by Jeep and the dealers lack of knowledge, it is hard to determine what is true so I am hoping someone who actually has one might be able to answer.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well not having an AUS owners manual for a 2014 I went across to the trusty WK2jeeps site (thanks to Milous) and checked out what happens with the US models...
"To Unlock/Enter The Liftgate
The liftgate passive entry unlock feature is built into the electronic liftgate handle. With a valid Passive Entry RKE transmitter within 3 ft (1.0 m) of the liftgate, press the electronic liftgate handle for a power open on vehicles equipped with Power Liftgate. Press the electronic lift- gate handle and lift for Manual Liftgate vehicles.
To Lock The Liftgate
With a valid Passive Entry RKE transmitter within 3 ft (1.0 m) of the liftgate, press the passive entry lock button located to the right of electronic liftgate handle.
NOTE: The liftgate passive entry lock button will only lock the liftgate, the liftgate unlock feature is built into the electronic liftgate handle."
Not only is the button there - another example of the salesman not knowing the vehicle and creating a misconception in a possible buyers mind.
I found it strange though that in the description the button only locks the liftgate on the 2014 - on ours it locks liftgate and doors. I wonder how that will work out in practice for 2014 owners?

Hi Kevin P the ship that Hymer is talking about doesn't dock at Freo. The next ship coming over here departs on 17/07/13 and docks around 22/08/13.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well that freaked me out...

The first time today I heard the VR transmit a text message. I mean I knew it could do it, but hadn't really tested that feature. We don't get a lot of text messages.

Parked, about to hop out and open our second gate and this voice booms out

'Hi folks, just letting you know we are going to do a burnoff..... etc'

WTF... where did that come from? Of course it was a text message and there in ensued a lot of mucking around with it.

Really weird to hear your vehicle say to you - 'I is a fancy fancy Jeep'

You must be stationery for it to work though.

What phone do you have? I was trying to get our Iphone 5's working but had no luck with the text side of things.. However we were moving when I was playing with it.. So that may be why?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

You have to be stationary for it to work Frad. We tried it whilst in motion but it won't automatically transmit it (or it doesn't seem to until you are stopped). You also cannot 'free speech' it whilst in motion.

Our phone is a Motorola Defy - nothing spech ...

We do not have a U-connect manual yet. This is all just us playing with it and mucking around. Not sure how it's supposed to actually operate.

From the manual.

NOTE: Uconnect® Phone Voice Texting is only available when the vehicle is not in moving.

Good to see the thread moving along and informing everyone with the MY14's features. Thought id log in while in Salzburg to see what was new to find a books worth of reading. Its only been 8 days.

Recieved an email from our dealer letting us know our overland will be ready for us upon our return to OZ. Gives us something to look forward to I guess.

Now, to have some pretzel's and plan tomorrow's journey into Slovenia....
