Take it easy Robo m8. You'll burst a poofoo valve if you keep this up.
As Malcolm once said, "Life wasnt meant to be easy" as he retired on a massive Government pension.

You need to look after yourself if you intend to enjoy this JGC MY14 when/if/maybe it arrives.

And just maybe, the Jeep/Fiat/Chrysler/Dodge /Ram OZ company (or whever they are called this week) the senior management are busy outside cultivating their mushroom farms. They have just lost touch with current time and when they get back inside with their hands all covered in shit, then maybe they can focus on what they are paid top do ....... "Manage"!!

So, Ive been without a tug for just on four (4) months now AND its just flown by!!!

Off to Seth Efrika next Thursday on the bucket of bolts called the QM2 so maybe, just maybe, the aforementioned and so called
"Management" may have pulled their collective heads out of confined spaces examining their intestines and let us all long suffering fools know whats going on!!

By gum!! I thought I saw a big pig flying by window just then!! What a porker that was!!

Such is life.

Reasonably up to date paddle steamer is the QM2. They do have internet in the library up front (bowside I think they call it) is slow and expensive tho.
But they get morse code reports of icebergs every day tho.
But truly a great ocean liner, love her. Not expensive, 20 night sector from melbourne to Cape Town in balcony cabin bit over $7,000.

Wont get that in a 5 star hotel, 5 star food and entertainment to boot, visit several countries and dont have to unpack.
Only way to travel, ohh except in a Jeep Grand Cherokee MY14 of course.
So may have some news (good I hope when we get back from shooting the lions, tigers, elephants etc (with the nikon of course)

In the meantime Robo m8, take it easy.

Sorry Milous, I am getting confused. In previous posts you have said you have seen some of the below items on this batch of Australian Overlands being made.
But your comments above stating no Summit features is confusing me again.
The WK2 site states the following:-

Adapt. Bi-xenon HID headlands. Overland-NO. Summit-Yes
Advanced Break Assist. Overland-No. Summit-Yes
Forward collision warning. Overland-No. Summit-yes
Enhanced adaptive Cruise Control. Overland-No. Summit-yes
Blind spot and cross path detection. Overland-No. Summit-yes
Headlamp washers. Overland-No. Summit-yes
Parksense front/rear assist system. Overland-No. Summit-yes

The above list states these are on the Summit and NOT on the Overland.
So if your comments above state these Overlands have NO Summit features then that must mean this batch of Aussie cars does not include the above.
If you say they do have some of the above (please list them) then that means these Aussie Overlands in fact DO have some Summit features.

The reason I am asking this is because if quite a number of the above items are being fitted as standard on this batch of Aussie Overlands then that would 'tend to indicate that these Overlands you are seeing WILL be our "top of range" model. I hope the above is clear because I have become confused.

Now I do understand we are not getting the HK on the Aussie Summit. I also clearly understand our Overland is not getting the Nappa Leather or that fancy headliner stuff.
Can you clear up my confusion. I know you have covered a lot of the above but I am afraid I am not a Robo. I am a bit slow on the uptake but answering
the above clearly may assist some other dumbo's like me.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I think Milous means Summit features such as
adaptive headlights
Harmon Kardon 825w 19 speaker sound
Suade headliner
Natura Leather

the other items you mention are part of the Advanced Technology Group and are optional on Overland - but thus far all the AU Overland vehicles have it so one would assume its sandard fare as per current AU models

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Webber,
you may be confusing what is Standard on the Overland and Summit, and what is exclusive on the Summit but n/a on the Overland:

ATG Package:
Advanced Break Assist. Overland-OPTIONAL, Summit-STANDARD
Blind spot and cross path detection. Overland-OPTIONAL, Summit-STANDARD
Enhanced adaptive Cruise Control. Overland-OPTIONAL, Summit-STANDARD
Forward collision warning. Overland-OPTIONAL, Summit-STANDARD

Adapt. Bi-xenon HID headlamps. Overland-NOT AVAILABLE, Summit-STANDARD
Headlamp washers. Overland-NOT AVAILABLE, Summit-STANDARD
HK Audios system. Overland-NOT AVAILABLE, Summit-STANDARD
Parksense front/rear assist system. Overland-NOT AVAILABLE, Summit-STANDARD

Now it's possible that AU could take some of the Overland features that are optional here in the U.S. and make them "Standard". But this would not give you a "Summit" model, just a more-loaded Overland.

Bottom line: The AU spec Overland is the "same" as the U.S. spec version - meaning that your Overland will not have any of the exclusive Summit equipment.

To me it makes no sense that AU would not have the Summit model, especially considering that (so far) they are not upscaling the Overland with Summit features. The fact that they did this in prior model years doesn't mean much since this year the Summit is a totally separate model.

I have not been able to determine the exact equipment separation of Standard vs optional for the AU Overland, only that said equipment is being installed at the factory and appears on the vehicle. If some of the items were Standard for 2013 then seems logical that would continue for 2014, I just don't have an options list yet. It is not uncommon for early builds, especially those going to dealers, press and shows, to be loaded up.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

ok, thanks Milous, robo & Allypally. I am back on track again. Thats how I did understand it but when Milous posted at #489 that none of those features were on the Aussie Overland it threw me off the track again. Now, with all those options standard on our Overland I am back to where I was a few days ago. I notice we have all the things that are an Option for the Overland and we have two things that are not even available for the American Overland, those being Windscreen washers and front/rear park sense. We have a lot of Summit features as standard loaded onto our Overland. You would have to conclude that the Overland will be our top Model with all those extra options as standard. Do you agree or disagree with those thoughts Milous?

That leaves very little option for Australia bringing in the Summit. Will people pay extra for the Summit here when all you get extra is basically the HK Radio and the adaptive headlights. The other things re the type of leather seats and the fancy stuff on the roof are minor. Having said that, I do like the extra bling with the Summit. Just a little more style but will Aussies pay whatever the extra price is for so little extra over and above our loaded up Overland. Anyway, stranger things have happenned in the past so I will keep waiting and watching for Milous and his scouts to break a NEWSFLASH.

Actually Milous, doing my homework I think we to have two items that are exclusive to the Summit and NOT available on YOUR Overland. The two you have listed in your post that are apparrently exclusive to your Summit I have cut and pasted below:-

Headlamp washers. Overland-NOT AVAILABLE, Summit-STANDARD
Parksense front/rear assist system. Overland-NOT AVAILABLE, Summit-STANDARD

Right or Wrong?

Right, BUT, they are features that have been included on export models over the years (some required by law). Whether AU gets a Summit or not those features would still be on your Overland, as in the past.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Now Gentlemen, the the $1M question .. when will we see those CRD AU spec machines on the production line... I am hopping we will not be waiting until late April like the US release, as this may push back local delivery even further..
