Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Don't tell me I've graduated to two pics. Hope this works.
The muted tone is quite accurate. The bright one is not...it is too bright. The bright setting is a colour somewhere in between the muted and bright colour shown here.
Are your ambient lights like these allypally?

sorry, something went wrong. The one on the left was meant to be muted green. At least I got two pics up at once.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Now this is the muted green and very accurate. The one above with the bright green is too bright. Reality is somewhere in between the bright green shown above and this muted green. I won't do anymore tonight because I am aware I have "hogged too much space". I'll do red and maybe some other colours in the next night or two. With a bit of luck I might get two pics up again and then I can try for three.....SNUKE, you're going to be proud of this old geeza.

Interesting colour choices there webber, good to see you got your moneys worth.

Snuke - 200mph is just a fantastic movie, watched parts of it before coming to work. Not sure why everything turned to CGI while racing but each to their own. BTW, fantastic may be a loose term.

So we finally got our black CRD Overland w/ OR pack on thursday! We didnt realise we would get it this quick, thought another couple of weeks but its all ours now. Ordered in november, so not as long a wait as some but long enough!

First MY14 GC in Rockhampton which we love, love the stares everyone gives you. Those lights, wow! The car is fantastic, we have done about 250km so far, with many more to come very soon. So smooth, and I scared the sh*t out of myself when i gave it a bit from a standing start the first time, didnt expect it to take off like it did!

Gearbox has been very smooth, its great.

Only issue we have had so far is the spare key doesnt work, seems the dealer must have 'forgotten' to program it. Get that sorted on monday. Also, the towbar has been fitted but not the wiring kit, apparently they wont receive the kit for another couple of weeks yet.

Fantastic car, worth the wait! Cant wait to put a few more k's on it and get off the beaten track!

I hate buying from overseas, I like to keep the sales in Aus.
I know the reason I get paid every week is because someone purchased a good or service in my industry in Australia and not from OS.
So I like to make sure I support the local economy.

I understand we pay more, I also understand we earn more.
I have a mate in Michigan - 35 years old, earns $5.50 an hour. Try that in Aus with a teenager and see how far you get let alone an adult.

So yeah from local supplier, I gather from the dealer.
Not sure if they will really do anything though. Great for sloppy mud etc, but for general gravel that we have it will still just sit on top and look crap and maybe harder to actually clean due to the texture, grippy nature of them.

Completely off topic (this thread has a topic?)...
There is an awesome movie on TV right now called 200 M.P.H.
I suggest you all shoot yourself in the head, and then watch it.
It is simply amazing.
I agree and already enquired at the dealer. They don't have part numbers for mud flaps or cargo mats etc for 14 yet and not sure when they will get them to order anything :-/

Personally Didn't think these would be different to the 11-13

From the dealership, we're looking at about the $360.00 mark for those items. Half the price from the US for the items but every single Mopar outlet that ships to Australia has the shipping coming in at approx. $400. (That I have contacted).

Does anyone know of a cheaper option? I think I'll just ring the dealership on Monday and order them because even with my usual Freight Forwarding company that I normally use for purchasing from outlets that do not ship outside the US (Hop Shop Go), I'm still looking at $300 plus shipping.

Unless of course someone knows of a cheaper way.
Hey,

For my JK Wrangler I just got a massive load of stuff from Quadratec, to give you an idea of how big the parcel was I got "a set of front half doors, jack stand, sway bar disconnects & around 12 other smaller items". Shipping was 150 - 200 however it all added up KG's to around 30kg's in a massive box. Have a look at them, they were easy to deal with and the website has just about everything..

Hope it helps, I tried to get the stuff in Aus however it wasn't stocked by local people & ended up +$300 less then getting from interstate...

Not sure if this is your first CRD. One thing they have over the petrol models is the instantaneous response from all that torque on tap. Your GC will ' leap' away from the lights, once you have owned a CRD there is no going back... Glad you are enjoying your ride.

I am getting rubber (slush) mats and mud flaps in my deal - flaps will be fitted by dealer. I assume these are same as 2013 model. Will find out next week - should pick up car mid week. Getting very excited!!

hi Webber - how'd you go with the VR system problem on Tuesday?
