But we do know, generally speaking given Milous's posting below. (my bold)

The GC Overland is what we want and have wanted since 12/15 months ago to replace our current WK model. So given that, it's not a crazy decision.
Fortunately/Unfortunately (you choose) we did not purchase because we got wind of a '14 model being released and were and are prepared to wait.
And I'm not signing a blank cheque as you put it. I already had that same amount of money earmarked for the '13 model so it still just sits in our account waiting for when I need to hand it over.
You know, sometimes I feel a bit sorry for Chrysler/Jeep at the moment. Here is a company that 3-4 years ago were on the verge of going bankrupt. A lot of companies find themselves in that position but to add to that angst, they happened to be the one responsible for an American Icon.
A very unenviable position to find oneself in (and it reminds me of similar situation that a Danish company found themselves in not so long ago - The TLG company or you would know them simply as Lego).
Both companies through strategic decision making whether that be head-hunting rival designers, shedding unnecessary peripherals, tightening quality control etc, have made remarkable comebacks but, at the cost of not being able to supply when demand has exceeded their expectation.
I think that the global demand for the new GC has caught them by surprise.
You could argue that it shouldn't have, but given the financial situation of the company 4 years ago, I think if I were CFO of it, I would lean on the side of manufacturing conservatively as well (as you would).
All credit to the designers/engineers and manufacturing teams for getting the brand back on its feet again. A tough gig no matter what way you look at it.
I'm patient (130,000 km on the current WK, still schmick and performing well as usual) so it will see us through until the new model arrives.
End of my Saturday ramblings.
