When I was researching Jeep there was an article in The Herald Sun, Drive I think, about rear thumps. I was disappointed because I have the same problem with my current car. It was a suspension problem and certainly seemed common enough for all Jeep dealers to be aware of it!

Keep us posted on this one.

I far prefer the look of the Spider Monkeys

Have a look at this website, the US SRT site - 2014 Grand Cherokee SRT - The Ultimate Performance SUV | driveSRT

i am sure some the Aus guys can tell you of any differences with the Aus spec.

The pictures of the goliath are further up the page ans the spider monkey wheels can be seen on all the older SRT8's.
Unfortunatly the vapor spider monkey wheels (black chrome) are not an option ATM in Oz.

As for the foot brake, you get used to it, but I personally do not like it.
Thankyou. This seems to clear things up. I far prefer the spiders but only in black chrome but it appears that I will need to wait a while for this option in Oz.

Here's my future rig... I hope

I hope they sort it out promptly without any hassle. The cars fantastic aside from this and the rough gear changes from 2nd to 1st, which I still maintain the feeling of being rear ended isn't normal despite what 'new compression they run at' ... Yup that's what I was fed ...

Can you tell me what it shows as the "current status"?
mine comes up the same "no records found", must be something to do with the Vin not being allocated to the vessel.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

If you want to check if your car does have any specific option fitted, become a financial member of this site and get Milous to give you a build sheet. These sheets tell you every option fitted, so you will know for sure.

As for the knocking in the rear, make sure you lift the spare tyre lid and check the spare is tied down. Mine did this after I had checked the air int he tyre, but had not secured the wheel properly.

Over bumps it was bouncing around. There may also be some leftover FO (foreign objects) left over from production. Best to check before you go to the dealers.

Also any dealer that attributes a rear thud to wheel alignment should be shot.

It needs new shocks in the rear. Just come from the dealer.

I did try absolutely everything imaginable to try and stop it

And the did the wheel alignment last week think as it was out

Yes, I love to hear the rationale from the dealer on that one.

Hey Bretto, at least you got a free wheel alignment out of it. I might complain about the thud when I get mine.

Price is wrong, should $77,000 plus on roads.
