Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Talking about '07 WK, look what some tosser has done to her whilst parked at the shopping centre two weeks ago. Came back and found this:

[IMG][/IMG]

It starts from the front passengers door and goes the full length of the panel stopping where the rear wheel is. If it hadn't been so low, I would have thought it had been keyed the gouge is so deep but there was scrappings of green paint left at the end of the gouge and the panel has also been pushed in.

People are pricks - no note, so sorry, no nothing.

(Excuse the dirt - you get that on our property).

I parked MY14 well away in the carpark the other day (I don't mind the extra walk to the entrance) and when I came back I noticed a new 300 series had also had the same thought as me and he parked next to me which was well away from everyone else.

Just checked build status again and now has VIN info effective but wasn't their yesterday when the booking was first confirmed.

Sympathise SJandL. That's why I always park furthest from the shops or whatever ever since I got my Subaru Outback. There isn't a mark on her except for stone chips on the bonnet.
Mind you, the missus thinks I have an anal obsession and I am the family joke.
Still, I reaped the reward with a good trade in deal

Back in the old days when I worked in a super market, there was an announcement over the loud speaker for the driver of such n such car to please come to the counter.
Many times this announcement was made.
I went out to have lunch break or something and saw what the story was.
Someone had parked their car into the side of another car; so passenger side driven into drivers side. INTO.
The owner of the car that was driven into was there all pissed as you would be.
20 mins later this old guy comes out of the super market with his shopping and heads to his car, the one that did the super parking effort.
He had manage to drive in the car park and as he turned the car into the parking bay, not given enough space, drove into the other car like they were mating, stopped, got out of the car and gone shopping like nothing had happened.
He did not notice what he did. He didn’t answer the constant messages in store because he could not hear them. I doubt he heard the loud squeals of the metal on metal when he parked.
The two owners swapped info slowly as everything had to be repeated numerous times at louder and louder levels, including phone numbers, and that is when the gold came.
The guy who’s car got stuffed asked the older gentlemen how he was going to hear him when he or the insurance company called in regards to the event, the repeated answer was “what?”
He got in his car without once apologising, and drive it out and tore more of the car off.

RE Leather Products

First I personally believe that with brand new leather you only need to wipe it over with a damp chamois once a week or so and also try to keep it out of the sun as much as possible, this is what I intend to do with my new GC when I pick it up at the end of this month.
Having said that, my research came across this site bowdensown.com.au This site will give you all the info you require regarding looking after leather as the type found in most modern motor vehicles, it also explains why you should not use some products like those used on saddles. Well worth reading, but remember it is a commercial site.

A quick look up on Leatherique I found this site roadflyforum.com where an owner of a BMW with Nappa leather came unstuck with this product big time. Seems to be a love / hate relationship with this product.

My in house expert (my wife) who has for many years been looking after her leather lounge by a using a damp chamois. To remove any stains she uses a little natural soap and water, seems to work well. She says that the main problem with leather is where your skin comes in contact with the surface and there is a transfer of body oils, eg wearing shorts on your new seats and placing your arm on the armrest ( maybe this is where a leather treatment could be used?)

As previously advised, whatever product you choose, try it first on a small area low down.

Hope this has been of some assistance to you.

OK, I am lazy like most of you so I am not going to scan the forum for an answer...

Q: How does one change the TPMS from reading in BARS, the manual states it can be done but I can't seem to find out how... Not in the manual that I can see. In fact the manual states it can measure in PSI or Kpa, doesn't even mention BARS.

I read that too, but thought like many, it is a one off, not the norm.
Here it is for others if you care.

Leatherique - A Tale of Woe (long))

that is why you do a small hidden part first.

It's linked to the metric setting.
I played with it for 10 secs at the dealer, metric is BAR and imperial is PSI.

SLACKER.

Dealer told me on Friday this was the only setting. Not sure why we would want to use US settings here is AS. As long as it is set to 2.6 (38 psi), we should be fine.

I buy large bottles off eBay from the states mate that lasts ages. But there are some local sellers selling it on there too at the moment I just saw
