thanks guy for all the tip on the leather protection, I think its just finding a product and testing it on a low out of sight place. I also ready not to use product they use on saddles.

I have been given a delivery date of 31 Oct 2013 as the latest possible delivery date for the vehicle, but I have not been too easy about this as the dealer has been telling me they are awaiting for Jeep AU to allocate a vehicle. Until this is done the delivery date is pretty much heresay. I just don't want to go along waiting for something that isn't so...
Does anyone know how cars are allocated?

Buster01 yes they have to give you a date and if they don't deliver then you have the option to cancel the order and a refund of your deposit. However if they "extend" that date by informing you then I guess you have to decide whether to go ahead with the order or not. Not sure what happens to your deposit in that case, but I suspect any decent dealer will give your money back.

In my case the dealer has told me of the delay/extended ETA. The part that pissed me off is that it took almost a month to be told they cant supply what I want as per the delivery date on my order. So 5 months from order, instead of 3 months. And who knows if the new ETA will happen?

I can hear that old adage in my head, good things come to those who wait!

Hi DCRSRT,

May I ask what option(s) did you order? Please bear in mind that an option is likely to cause delay, a factor controlled by production line in the factory rather than a dealer or Chrysler Aus.

Buster, as I said, yes I have a delivery date 19/09/13. But at the end of the day you can not hold them to that date. You either accept the delay, or cancel your contract and get your deposit back. There is no other option. Cop it or go else where.

mmrch I chose the usual SRT options of Pano Roof & High performance audio package (plus towbar but this is done here in Aus anyway). I have also chosen the Spider Monkey wheel option. None of those options would cause a delay to the production of the car. I suspect pretty much most SRT's ordered will have chosen the first two options at least (as a package they only cost $3900). So it's nothing to do with the build of the car, just the lack of numbers available to JeepAU (or their poor ability to gauge demand and order accordingly) Or as my dealer says, the AU allocation is already taken up by orders that preceded mine.

EDIT: I should also add i'm not really pissed off at the dealer, I hope he tells it as it is. Just annoyed that it took almost a month for me to find out about the delay.

The Leatherique product might be the one to do the job.
I'd like something that maintained the new leather smell.

Hi DCRSRT,

Agree with you. Demand surpasses supply. It's not easy to gauge the demand, skill of forecasting plus luck. On the flipside, this just reinforces that 2014 JGC is good car, value for money. Touch wood, it's also a reliable car for many years to come. By the way, I just ordered overland with ETA 6 months. Patience is virtue of all.

This is the brand the misses uses on her saddles Effax.
They also do car leather products. Top stuff she says, top end of the market.

Thanks Trajcem, sadly I have no idea about kPa either, was taught PSI by my dad and has stuck with me. Guess I better get with the times.

Hi, you may have read my post a few days ago. My VR system is playing up. I am having my Uconnect system replaced under Warranty. The service manager is of the opinion it is my faulty Uconnect that is causing only one side of the heating to work. (sometimes it works ok). I can only receive calls but cannot alter radio stations, temp or make calls through the VR system. It was working on day 1 but spat the dummy shortly afterwards.

Was ordering mine in Bendigo last week when the dealer was doing his "order" for September. He showed me his allocation sheet and he was 'allowed' to order 4 cars for the month!! 2 Limited, 1 Laredo 4x2 and 1 Laredo 4x4. That was his limit from Jeep Aus...go figure! Poor fella has to be a mind reader or better still Nostradamus. Not always the dealers fault it seems

Hey Domo10 - feel for you here. This is the choice I had to make 6 weeks ago - either wait for a custom job or take what was already on the way. I took the second option (lease running out helped that decision) so lost nappa seats, but at least I knew the vehicle existed and would be delivered in a reasonable time frame.
Hoping for pick up on Thursday!

um, i suspect thats his allocation of stock - ie cars for the floor and immediate delivery.

Putting an order into jeep au for a specific customer seems different, and JA wont tell them what they have in what colours that is JA stock, you just have to roll the dice.

so he can order whatever he wants, but with a customer name and deposit to back it up.
