Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

No No Noooo. Read the Handbook. Do you really think the dealer did that?
I doubt it. More than likely, the dealer is just guessing what is normal, and what is not normal.

Noticed this morning my passenger door looks way out of alignment. Before I march up there like a Mexican banshee can anyone tell me if this is considered normal

Left and right door displayed .. Right looks fine

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Headlight Switch
"When the headlight switch is on the parking lights, taillights, license plate light and instrument panel lights are also turned on."

Parking Lights And Panel Lights

"To turn on the parking lights and instrument panel lights, rotate the headlight switch clockwise. To turn off the parking lights, rotate the headlight switch back to the O (Off) position."

Fog Lights:

"The fog lights will operate only when the parking lights are on or when the vehicle headlights are on low beam. An indicator light located in the instrument cluster will illuminate when the fog lights are on. The fog lights will turn off when the switch is pushed a second time, when the headlight switch is rotated to the off position, or the high beam is selected."

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

So have checked with others with 2014's & lights should operate as follows:

Off : DRL's at full output

Parkers : DRL's Dimmed + Full use if needed of front & Rear lower driving/fog lights (interior should be lit up when parkers are on)

On : DRL's on but dimmed , HID ON, Full use of front and rear lower driving/fog lights (interior should be lit up)

Auto : will select between ( Off & ON ) depending on ambient light + Full use of front and rear driving/fog lights

When lights are off & you indicate the DRL will turn off until you finish that function

When the lights are in park the DRL's are dimmed so they stay on while the indicator light is being used - same as when HID's are used.

Hope this sheds some "Light" on the situation

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

No good Frad.

I read it somewhere on this site, (couldn't tell you where though - one of my random searches) but if you hold down the Mute and Tune buttons together it resets the Uconnect system. (??)

Also, and just a bit off topic, but how do we get updates for our Uconnect system. I notice that the US are on version 13.19.0 (that is currently coming in newly built vehicles) but we're still on version 13.15 (something like that - I'll need to check again) but we are definitely behind versions.

Just something I wondered about.

Is there an AU Owners Manual available for download? I found one for the US.

Need something to read whilst I wait. Not enjoying this thread at the moment with people posting problems with their GC's.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I found the post I stumbled across - it was actually in Willx's Uconnect 13.19.0 thread.

Quote:
.... The only way for the MEDIA section to begin working again is to do a reset of the entire Nav, by pressing in both the MUTE and TUNE buttons until system reboots. After the reboot, it always works afterwards.
It's not directly related to your issue but who knows - it could help.

That would be great re: asking the dealer about the updates. Thank you.
