Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

After last weeks events & having to refinance I finally get to pick up our first ever Jeep, the
GC Overland, Bright White, 3.6 Petrol tomorrow, can't wait. The wife is to scared to drive it already, so I get to go it alone to pick it up. I am going to enjoy the drive back from Sutherland to Terrigal on the Central Coast, Yahoo.

We really want to see some decent pics of the light frost interior for Ltd.
the black contrast makes it quite different to the Overland that Webber got.
Ok, will do

I am interested - how much of a saving was required to have you purchase from Sutherland rather than the Gosford dealer?

Jumped in to the truck (our name for the my14) today and was able to play music through the blue tooth as well as having a fully functional phone connection (using a galaxy s4). There does not appear to be a problem.

Yeah jeeptogo ours works fine like that. As webber was saying he can't get a track list up for his music streaming from his phone and I can't either. Phone book works fine, but can't get the track list, where as my iPod connected via USB brings up a track list. Can you access a track list on the unconnect screen from ur phone?

What I did was set my phones music folder to "my top 100 tracks"before I connected the phone to the uconnect via bluetooth. When the connection was accepted there was the play/ tracklist as well as the phones full functionality,

I have to say, I expected all sorts of hassles, but I really cannot fault Caroline Springs: upfront and great value on price, accurate information including updates along the way, threw in the mudflaps after the deal was signed and really excited about their new showroom! Oh, and we left the books behind so Joel offered to drop them in on his way home ( 1/2 hour out of his way), cant complain about that!

Had fun driving home; love the blind spot monitoring!

White Overland with black interior, weather shields, boot mat, mudflaps(!) and tow bar ( to be installed when wiring comes in, early August).

Yay!
Congrats Buster. BSM is fantastic I agree.

These things happen I suppose. Two weeks ago we had a brand new central heating system put in. The renovators then removed our old Coonara wood heater and two days after that the computer in the Central Heating spat the dummy. Three nights with no Coonara and no Central heating with night temps ranging between 0 DEGREES AND 3 DEGREES. Not Funny.
Agree Webber. Like my new Bosch washing machine. Spat the dummy 72 hours after installation. Best to just be pragmatic about these things when they do happen.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

G'day all

Been following this forum for some time but just joined today. I picked up my 2014 Cashmere Pearl Laredo CRD last week from Maddington in Perth. So far I like the vehicle, though it took some getting used to coming from a Commodore sedan. It's only done 150kms to date and all is ok apart from the evic panel and gauges not working a few night's ago - has not done it since and a paint gouge above the rear number plate - looks like from a careless screwdriver when fitting the plates - which the dealer will assess at the 1k check up.

My main regret was not being able to option the sat-nav (I didn't want to pay the extra $10k for a limited. However a previous post regarding how the dealer can switch this feature on the USA (see you tube video below) has me intrigued. I asked the Perth dealer about it and he could get nothing back from Jeep Australia. It appears Jeep Australia do not want this functionality to be optioned or enabled in Australia as part of their marketing strategy is to push customers into the Limited or Overland models.

Alberts in Perth say they are a month away from an after-market solution but that will cost about $2k. However, they too were intrigued by the possibility that the existing uconnect screen could have the sat nav function "switched on" with perhaps a module and software updates, but again the information on this is sparse. Has anyone else looked into this? Any ideas how I could get further information on doing this?

Cheers

Somewhere much earlier in this thread we discussed upgrading the Laredo to have Nav. That person was told it could not be done.
I posted a video about how it was done (can't view you vid from the app) and they were going to press their dealer again.
There was no follow up result posted but it wasn't looking good.

Edit: post #4420 where Gforce says it can be done for $1000.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Thanks for the info Snuke, I'll pass that on to the Maddington dealer in Perth, though I doubt they will put too much time into it.

Burger, I'll take some pictures and post it later. The colour looks much better than what I expected, especially in bright daylight.
