Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

The Kevin- lease thing has put me behind, hopefully picking up Silver Laredo CRD with Quadra lift tomorrow afternoon from Dubbo. Just checking on other peoples views , first Jeep - making sure its the right thing to do. U-connect has me worried , because Im 170 kms from nearest Jeep Dealer.....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Problem with this particular thread is that it has basically outlived it's original intention, and it is now so big that it is being used for all and sundry, and good information is being lost within the pages.
If you have a issue with any component, you would be better to place it in it's own specialised thread in order that others can find the problems and possibly solutions rather easily.

Anyway, the ACC worked great for the next 200k. Only rattling on here in case any of you guys ever accidentally knock a paddle shifter and get a fright when your gears fail to change automatically and then you discover your Cruise Control is out of action with a warning sign coming up calling for you to have it "serviced"
These cars almost need a pilots licence....and yes, I know someone is going to come up saying it is all explained on page ???? of the manual...you smarty pants. lol.

Yes had the same thing happen to me, I read the manual and found when you hit a paddle you are in manual mode which will show the gear selection on the drivers screen. To disengage manual press and hold the plus paddle and you will notice that D for drive is now selected, this can all be done on the move, so I now use manual downshift when coming up to traffic lights etc, works a treat.
Agree you almost need a special licence to drive a GC, it is a somewhat complex piece if gear.

Couldn't agree more, it is somewhat difficult to find info within this thread.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I can not coment on the QL ride, as my 2014 is still in transit. However i read a post that states the the QL plus the backup camera are invaluable for hooking up your trailer, makes it a 123 one man job.

Only my opinion, but when I was looking to buy a GC I decided against the Quadra Lift as my wife and I are intending to travel extensively towing a 3000 kg Van. My thoughts were less problems and easy to fix a standard coil sprung system and also obviously we won't be extensively travelling off road, so don't need the extra lift height which I am led to believe also increases ride harshness.

Very happy with the ride comfort of our coil sprung GC Limited, it is a little firm but rides exceptionally well over undulations and speed bumps etc, much better than my Nissan Patrol which is also coil sprung.

Another added advantage of QL is it allows the car to be lowered to allow easier access for your dog in and out of the vehicle...
