Thanks sj and l and webber for your comments re heated seats... I will investigate further on weekend when we go for another long run... I might put it down to me never before having the luxury of heated seats or not using an electric blanket to sleep with for decades.

and in response to the ladies comment about not having a problem with the climate control when her husband does... I would just put that down to men preferring their cars to be hotter... the magic number seems to be 23 on our car when we get 50 degrees from one side and 12 from the other

Picked up my Laredo diesel yesterday. Everything happy except front head lights got moisture in them. Is that normal or what do you guys reckon?

Normal here.... it's caused by the steam from how hot the 2014 gc is

Yes, occasionally, depending on the weather/temperature, we've also noticed moisture/fogging/condensation in the headlights. A few hours in the sun it disappears.

Our daughter who has a VW Golf TDI also has the issue (she was complaining about it just last week) as does our friend across the road with a Kia Sportage and a Mazda.

Look, I don't know what goes on with the headlights across the range of car manufacturers other than to say, it is not unique to Chrysler. Maybe they all buy their headlight casings from the same outlet. (?)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi All,

FYI, an update on the spare tyre of my MY14 JGC Overland CRD with ORAII.

I opened up the cargo tray today. I was impressed with the OEM spare with a sticker on the side saying it was rated to 120 km/h. Better than I expected.

I did test a full size tyre (including width) and it pretty much fits in the spare tyre well. Not even enough room to fit my fingers under the lip. If I let some air out of the spare it might even fit perfectly (although not tested).

Regards,

Sparky.

Hey Sparky,

Are the Yokohama Geolander A/T-S G012 tyres LT (light truck) construction? Does it show LT265/60/18 on the sidewall? What is the speed and load rating? Can you get them in both passenger and light truck construction?

Zillajnr.

Perfectly normal. They are not sealed units. The small drainage hole does allow air in which turns into condensation in the light but that hole also allows the air to dry it out again.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Zillajnr,
Nope they are not LT. They are 265/60/R18 110H. I am not plugging them just decided to give them a go. I don't think you can get them in LT. My understanding is that the only LT tyre in Australia in the OEM size the Bridgestone DUELER A/T D697 LT265/60R18 114S... happy to be corrected and will edit my post accordingly.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

JEEP48 goes in next Wednesday for a new Uconnect system. Let's see what effect that has on the Voice Recognition and heaters blowing hot one side and cool the other. Service manager did think it just might control heating in the steering wheel too. Time will tell.

Barry.

What do you mean by "different"?

Got mine from the US via EBay at $110 delivered, genuine Chinese made MOPAR (as are many MOPAR parts). A Korean variant may have been a better choice due to claimed flexibility rather than the MOPAR hard ABS units. All fitted and all fine as far as I am concerned. until I break them!

Regards

Thanks for all the answers. That makes me perfectly happy with no exception.
